Chapter 12

What's next?
Down by the Bay St. Pub
[Enter: Anthony]
Anthony: A broken heart wants distraction
What better way to achieve that than interaction
With good ****!
[Anthony enters the pub; enter: Yakiv, Sergey, Wayne, Fozhan, Bartender Getter]
Anthony: Barkeep, get me something for a broken-heart
Bartender Getter: You can't go wrong with our in-house ale!
It has put a smile, even on the faces of men soon to be confined to jail
Anthony: Then get it, and be fast!
My heart cannot long outlast
The shattering result of the blast
That has hit me
Sergey: Barkeep, put his drink on my tab
For I understand well the stab
Of a broken heart!
Bartender Getter: Of course sir as you request,
I will bring you gentlemen each a glass of our best
Ale!
[Anthony sits next to Sergey]
Anthony: Thank you kind sir for covering the drink
What did you do when your heart unlinked
From the rest of your body?
Sergey: I drank, and talked, and drank some more
Then some friends took me to visit a whore
I enjoyed her the whole night
And my heart was better by first light
Not so bad seemed losing my old lover
Though, my head felt quite hungover
Fozhan: That’s rough dudes!
Sorry, I don’t mean to be rude
Be positive is what I say
See the light that’s in this day!
Always be positive
You’ll find the results pleasantly causative!
Wayne: Good Fozhan! Let me buy you a drink!
And in return you can talk to me about the history of paper ink!
Bartender Getter [sets ale in front of Anthony, and Sergey]:
Gents, your drinks are here!
Anything else, before I return to the counter?
Yakiv [points at Anthony, and Sergey]:
Get those gentlemen an ale each on me,
And get me one also, for a total of three
Bartender Getter:
Very well sir, I'll do as you say
I'll bring out three drinks, for which you will pay
Sergey: Very good of you Yakiv,
To buy us this ale which you choose to give
To us as a treat
How very remarkably sweet!*
Yakiv: You know how much I love my friends!
To friends, my help, I always extend!
Sergey: I've known you many years
You've seldom bought me a beer
I've only heard you call me friend
When it serves your own ends
Yakiv:
I am dismayed by your lack of faith
All I want is for all people to be both free, and safe!
But I'll prove my goodwill
Against your slights, I will remain chill
Anthony: You seemed rather harsh on that gent
Who moments ago bought us **** as a present
Sergey: It is a diplomatic competition
We each strive to manoeuvre our country into the best possible position
We are, myself, and Yakiv, both with the diplomatic core
The rivalries between my federation, and his borderland are old, and sore
And tensions are not helped by this war
Anthony: Did you both buy me drinks to win my favour then?
What good that would do your countries is beyond my ken
Sergey [Laughs good-humouredly]: Not everything we do is for diplomatic objectives
Buying you the drink was purely elective
Though, I suspect, Yakiv buying us each a brew
Was to give the impression his country is generous, and true
I cannot help suspecting him
Long years in the diplomatic core have made me grim
Bartender Getter [Sets Ale in front of Anthony, Sergey, and Yakiv]:
Here you are gents
Drink up, and forget your torments!
Anthony: This is truly exquisite ale!
Yet it does not Prevail
To divert my thoughts from the affliction
That shakes my every conviction
The burning at my heart
That threatens to tear me apart
I still love my wife dearly
But I now see clearly
That she never loved me
Sergey: A man’s wife can be his world
Without her it can seem unthinkable to continue to build
The life he worked so hard to create
For himself, and his mate
Anthony: What you say is true
If only, at the altar, I knew
Sorena's vows were not honest
I would never have promised
To share my life with her
Sergey [clutches his chest]:
I've drunk to much
My doctor warned me against excess of ale, and sugary munch
I must see a Physician
To regain my health, and nutrition
Sergey [Tries to get up, then collapses]:
Anthony: This gentleman's been taken ill
I'm too drunk to drive
Yet he needs a doctor's skill
If he's to come out of this alive
Yakiv: He's just drunk, he'll be alright
Now, I bid you gentlemen goodnight!
[Exit: Yakiv]
Anthony: No, he has a problem with his heart
Anthony [Aside]:Though it seems more golden than else's in these parts
Wayne: I've had but one beer
I'll drive the gentleman to a hospital very near
Good Fozhan, will you help this gentleman [indicates Anthony] walk the poor man to my car
I'll join you after settling any outstanding debts at the bar
Fozhan: Of course I will help carry the injured man
Positivity asserts I assist where I can!
[Exit: Anthony, Fozhan, Sergey]
Wayne: Barkeep bring me my bill, and Fozhan,s, and Sergey's as well
I'll pay for whatever to them you did sell
Bartender Getter [hands over the bills]: Here you are sir
Wayne [pays the bills]: And here you are, have a good day!
[Exit all]

A World Where People are Treated as Objects
This story has the premise that everything, and everyone is an object, and that we should all treat each other like objects. Men are treated as success objects (as Dr. Warren Farrell has said). Women are treated as sex objects (as the feminists have said), and children are treated as hope objects.
