You swallow the bile rising in your throat as you stare at the grainy screen; though despite how hard you stare you’re unsure of what you’re looking for. Regina pressed a few buttons on the machine and a heartbeat resonates from the machine followed by a second.

“Well damn,” Walter chuckles, “Looks like we have a fertile one here.”

Two. You have two foetuses growing inside of you, still that doesn’t answer your previous questions. Are they human? Has the virus affected them? Are they dangerous?

“Yes, but it seems that they are growing at an exponential rate,” Regina comments, “At this size I would suspect her to be in her second trimester,” Regina glances down at you, “Are you positive you weren't pregnant before we found you?”

“Damn sure,” you remark back, “Your people did this to me,”

“So how long before she pops?” Walter enquires preventing a reoccurring argument between you and Regina beginning, a twisted grin on his lips.

“With the rate of growth as it is, another month maybe two,” Regina replies as she replaces the ultrasound wand and switches off the machine.

“So what do you think?” Conrad finally asks

“I think the virus has caused them to develop quickly, though I won’t know anything else until they’re born,” Regina answers, “We should probably try and acquire some more medical equipment while we’re here, that’s if scavengers haven’t taken it all.”

You slip off the cot to retrieve your dress which is lying on the floor. You want to be as covered as soon as possible especially since there is a chill forming in the air. However, your mind is still reeling in the information you just received. Two months, you could be giving birth in two months after just finding out you were pregnant. Once again you find yourself swallowing the bile rising in your throat.
