Double Date, Part 1

“Gwennie! Cass! Glad you two could make it,” MJ grinned as she opened the door for the couple, greeting them with a friendly hug.

“Me too – I’ve been dying to see your new love nest,” Gwen told MJ as she & Cassie greeted Kori with their own embraces. “I gotta say, it’s not bad. Seems like the modeling gig is finally paying off, huh?”

MJ grabbed a few bottles of **** and began pouring. "Like you wouldn't believe, Gwen. Ever since Looker's started working for us we've been raking it in. Now I have people managing my social media accounts now, too -- I never thought I'd ever have anything like that. I gotta admit, it's pretty great."

"...not to mention, working at the Looker agency has plenty of other benefits," Kori added, flashing a coy grin at her girlfriend.

"That so?" Cassie said curiously, noticing the knowing grin the redheaded couple shared. "You'll have to take us there sometime and show us around."

"Way ahead of you," MJ grinned. "By the way, Gwen -- Jean Grey says hi. Says she's really looking forward to hanging out again."

"Jeannie? Shit, I haven't talked to her since Cass & I got together," Gwen thought out loud. "When did you see her?"

"We worked a job for the manager at the agency. Even did a couple of shoots together. Here, take a look," MJ explained, pulling up the pictures on her phone and handing it to Gwen.

Gwen swiped through the photos, Cassie eagerly looking over her shoulder. "Fuck, these are hot," Gwen approved.

"I'll say. Is there like some secret club for hot redheads where you meet these girls? And if so, do they allow visitors?" Cassie jokingly wondered aloud.

"Oh, yeah. We meet on the second Tuesday of every month. Maybe if you're a good girl Kori and I will take you as our guests," MJ teased back. "Anyway, you should see the photos she took with Kori. They're on there, too, and they are spectacular."

Gwen continued to scroll through the photos, she and Cassie both growing wet looking at them.

"So, Kori & I text Jeannie pretty often now," MJ continued. "Actually, we've made a lot of friends at the agency..."

"And I'm betting you're thinking about how to get to *ahem* know them better," Cassie couldn't help but chuckle as well, knowing full well what Kori & MJ were like.

MJ and Kori got a good laugh out of Cassie's remark. "Perhaps we are," Kori grinned. "I have grown very fond of Miss Grey."

"Uh, I feel like I'm kind of out of the loop here..." Gwen pointed out.

“Don’t worry about it, Gwen... we’ll bring you up to speed soon enough,” Cassie smiled as she kissed her new girlfriend’s cheek.

“Awwwww, look at Gwen, Kori. She’s blushing,” MJ teased. “That is too cute.”

“...Shut up, MJ...” Gwen muttered, an embarrassed smile on her lips.

“Oh, no. You’ve had this coming for months now, ever since Kori & I started dating,” MJ teased. “Now I get to have my fun. It’s great, isn’t it? Being in loooooove?”

“...should’ve known my big mouth would come back to haunt me...” Gwen groaned, her face now a deep shade of red.

“Oh yes. And my **** will be sweet. Not as sweet as your undying love for Cassie, mind you, but still, so sweet,” MJ playfully taunted.

“All right, MJ, I think poor Gwen’s had enough,” Cassie snickered. “As cute as she looks right now, I have an obligation to protect my girlfriend...”

“Did you hear that, Kori?!” MJ gleefully hollered. “Cassie called Gwen her girlfriend!”

“Yes, I did,” Kori grinned widely. “You must have loved hearing that!”

“...seriously, MJ, shut up... butyeahItotallydid...” Gwen muttered.

“All right, Gwennie. I’ll lay off... for now,” MJ relented. “But you had to know it was coming. ‘It’s my duty as your best friend’, after all.”

“Yeah, yeah... throwing my words back in my face. I can’t even be mad – I’d have done the same thing. Well played, MJ,” admitted Gwen.

“You’ve no need to be embarrassed, Gwen. From the texts Cassie has sent me, she is, as she says, ‘into you in a big way’,” Kori said, and now it was Cassie’s turn to blush.

“Kori... always the hopeless romantic,” Cassie said with an embarrassed smile. “But yeah, you aren’t wrong.”

“So tell us about your ‘incredible date’,” Kori requested. “MJ & I have been eagerly waiting to hear about it.”

“Yeah, where’d you go? What’d you do?” MJ asked excitedly.

“Actually, as soon as we met up, we saw Lizard tearing up the street nearby,” Gwen began. “He was using an ancient Greek staff to boost his strength. So he tries hitting me with some sort of venom blast from this staff, and Cass dashes in front of me. It hits her, and nothing happens – turns out, being a daughter of Olympus, she has control over this staff. So Cass commands the staff to stop working, and it does... you have no idea how badass she looked... so hot.”

“Hahahaha... Yeah, that sounds right,” MJ laughed. “Poor Gwennie can never seem to catch a break. I have way too many stories about us like that.”

“Yeah, and I wanna hear all of ‘em,” Cassie said. “Anyway, Gwen webs this Lizard dude up, and we make our way to this pizza place.”

“Amore’s, right?” asked MJ. “So good.”

“Yeah, it was incredible... when we actually got around to eating it. You see, we decided to order take-out instead, and took it back to Gwen’s place...”

“Mmm-hmm... niiiiiiiice,” MJ grinned.

“Nice indeed,” Kori added. “I take it the date really picked up after that?”

“Did it ever,” Cassie beamed. “I’ll leave the rest of the date to your imaginations... Now, I want to hear about you and Gwen, MJ. You said you’ve got a bunch of stories – let’s hear one.”

MJ’s began to think – there were a million different stories she could have told. “OK, let’s see... might as well start with an earlier one. Either of you ever deal with a guy named Electro?”

“Once,” said Cassie. “Tough bastard -- nearly short circuited Vic. We stopped him when Gar turned into a giant electric eel and overloaded his powers.”

“Kori’s actually mentioned that to me before -- I thought that was some pretty quick thinking on Gar’s part,” lauded MJ. “Anyway, apparently Kingpin had hired him to take out some witness who was recovering in a hospital – he used to work for Fisk, and had struck some sort of plea bargain with the cops. Kingpin found out and had his thugs work him over until Daredevil chased them off. The guy survived, but he was in no condition to talk, so they moved him to a hospital. Apparently Electro planned on completely draining the power from the hospital, shutting down this guy’s life support to finish the job.”

A look of disgust crossed Kori’s face. “That’s awful – what about the rest of the patients?”

“We thought it was some major overkill ourselves... but the witness had some serious police protection outside his door,” Gwen added. “I guess Fisk thought this was the easiest way to get to the guy.”

“So we’re trying to stop Electro from draining the power, and he gets a shot in on Gwen. He starts walking towards her all smug, and he starts doing the whole bad guy monologue...”

Gwen grinned and began to finish the story. “...And MJ sneaks up behind him as he’s going on and on about his ‘unrivaled power’ and nails him mid-speech with a high-powered taser. I don’t think there’s anything funnier than a bad guy being KO’d in the middle of a smug speech.”

Both Cassie and Kori chuckled, having plenty of experience watching supervillains eat their words.

“So anyway, that overloads Electro’s power, Gwen webs him up, he gets sent to the raft, and the world’s greatest crimefighting team is born,” MJ concluded.

“OK, see, now I’m kinda jealous... you’ve teamed up with Gwen and Kori, I’ve teamed up with Gwen & Kori... when do we get to work together, MJ?” Cassie suggested.

“Soon, I hope,” MJ answered. “I’m sure we’ll kick some ass together.”

“Damn right we will,” Cassie grinned, fist bumping with MJ.

“All right. Now I’ve gotta ask you guys one more question...” Cassie said, a coy look in her eyes. “I hear MJ’s really taken to Kori’s Tamaranean practices. Y’know, Kori once told me Tamaraneans are pretty casual around the house when it comes to clothes... so... do you two have some kind of arrangement?”

MJ and Kori chuckled at the question while Gwen looked at Cassie, jaw agape and eyes wide. It looked like the conversation was going to get far more interesting....
