Dormitory

Olivia breathed a sigh as she laid down her hefty luggage bags down on the twin size bed. She had only just arrived mere hours before, but it all felt so... Alien. The biege on biege was a stark contrast to the soft blue on brown of her old bedroom of her old in Yorkshire. She also had to get used to the soft humming of the window air conditioning unit that allowed cool air to flow into the small dorm.

Which only served to remind her that the bloody heat was going to surely exhaust her! She couldn't help but wonder how people lived in such conditions. The lower twenties in celsius boggled her mind but she was flabbergasted when she learned it could easily reach thirty. And these people treat it as if it's as normal as getting a cuppa for teatime.

After she had thoroughly finished up internally bemoaning her rough time adjusting to life in America, she began to set about unpacking. She chose the smaller closet on the left as she believed that she should be fine with the clothes that she brought with her on the flight. The clothes that she did have were mostly modest, blouses and caprees with cute wide brimmed woven hats decorated with coloured sashes. The most scantily clad piece she could claim to own was a pretty pink see through gown.

The soft click of heels tore Olivia from her thoughts and made her turn around towards the source. Then, she blinked when she saw a beautiful woman step inside. Only a couple of inches taller, she was a stark contrast to herself. Tanned, with soft blonde hair that was clipped short at the ears. Those soft blue eyes captivated Olivia and she starred for longer than she would dare admit.

What also caught her attention was the fact what she was wearing. A tight white sleeveless shirt with a short sleeve white and black striped track jacket zipped down just enough to allow some of her modest bosom to show. This girl also wore white jogging leggings and oddly enough, heeled causal shoes. Not joggers like what Olivia had expected.

"Oh... Uh... Hullo." Olivia stammered, not realising yet that she was starring at the newcomer.

"Hello yourself. What are you doing here?" The stranger asked, having noted Olivia's clipped English accent.

"Oh, well, I was assigned to this dorm. I have the paperwork here to prove it." Olivia said by way of explanation and offered the slip which the woman accepted.

"Room B-Thirty-Two. Yeah, that would be it," she breathed out a sigh, "Looks like we're gonna be roommates," a purposeful pause to look around and accept her fate, "Looks like we're going to be roommates. I'm Victoria." Victoria introduced herself and offered a hand.

"Olivia," Olivia accepted the handshake and quietly noted how soft and warm her roommate's hand is, "so I see you decided to go jogging without joggers...?" She questioned with a curious glance at Victoria's shoes.

It was Victoria's turn for her cheeks to glow a rosey red as she cleared her throat, "Ah. Right. I was at the mall with friends before coming back here for a jog. I arrived here only last week, myself so I wanted to make sure I was stocked on clothes and such." She elaborated.

Victoria herself noted how Olivia's skin seemed to glow softly under the artificial lighting. It contrasted well with her eyes that seemed to sparkle with intrigue. Her hair was nice as well, shoulder length with nice curls with almost seamless look. She also noted the homely look that she had going, a white short sleeved blouse with a red tie and red plaid skirt. Really nailed that adorable school girl look without meaning to.

Olivia giggled and snapped her fingers to bring her new friend out of her trance, "Come along, then. Why don't you show me around? I've only just arrived and heaven knows I could use a tour." She offered innocently.

Victoria fluttered eyes and smiled, "Oh, yeah, of course." She answered.
