You do your best to resist her, but this isn’t a submission hold you can fight your way out of if you can just take the pain. You’re being choked, and even the strongest, toughest, fastest body can’t fight without air.

You flail at Lady Grace to try to knock her loose, but your strength is rapidly fading and her body is placed well out of your reach. For what you suspect won’t be the last time, you curse the luck that made her so tall and leggy.

But before long, you don’t have the presence of mind left to curse anything, or indeed to even think about escaping. You gurgle and gasp for air, but none comes. Your vision tunnels, then fades, then goes black. The last thing you see before unconsciousness takes you is your adversary’s face, with her scarlet lips parted in a cruel, mocking laugh.
