Don't make the offer. People might talk and you might lose out on Anna.

 I developed a cold, maybe from standing in a draft and talking to Pat, or maybe I caught it from her.  At any rate, I felt rotten by Saturday afternoon, and did not spend much time with Anna.  Our amorous plans were postponed for a couple more months.
