Don't get involved.

You roll away to a place where the two men hopefully can't see you. If they know you saw them, that's a mistake. If you get involved in any way, that's a mistake. Don't get involved, that's a mistake. You quickly crawl to safety before getting up and running away. You run for maybe 10 seconds before slowing down to a regular stroll again.

You quickly run through your options. Visiting the safehouse is no longer an option. Going home could put your family in danger. You had made a mistake. They had probably seen you. You had to run. But that would only draw more suspicion to you. You turn left and enter the front porch of the very next house. You casually walk up to the door and ring the bell. You're shaking with adrenaline, but you have to stay calm.

The door finally opens after what feels like an eternity and you see a young girl, maybe 9 or 10. You're surprised to see someone so young answering the door. It was a dangerous world. "Hi, I have a present for your sister. Can I come in?" you ask. You didn't know whether she had a sister, but two children was the standard and most parents chose two of the same gender.

The girl looks at you funny for a moment. "Are you Brittany's boyfriend!?" she says loudly.

You look back to see one of the large men walking down the street. You have to act quickly. "Yeah. Wow, you're quite the detective, aren't you." you say as you take a step inside. The young girl lets you by and you quickly close the door behind you.

"Brittany! Your boyfriend's here!" the young girl then yells out, making you reel back in shock. It might not immediately draw the attention of the guards, but it still scares the shit out of you and the adrenaline means you're ready to dash up the stairs and get to the roof. From the top of the stairs you hear some rumbling however. "Boyfriend? I don't have a... AAAAH!"

At the top of the stairs you see a girl who you assume to be Brittany. Also, she's currently screaming at the top of her lungs for you to get out. You dash up the stairs and tackle her, landing on top of her and pining her down.
"You have to be quiet or we'll all die." you say loudly, only inches from her face. Brittany doesn't seem like the sharpest tool in the shed however and continues struggling and shouting at you.

Her shouting is cut short however when the door is penetrated with bullets. The young girl still standing in front of it with a confused look on her face is hit multiple times. You don't take the time to watch all of it. You get up and pull Brittany with you, away from the chaos. She's staring at her sister in shock, but you roughly jerk her away from the stairs and into the building.
