Don't download the software

The thought of Matt and Ariana together makes you grit your teeth. What are the boundaries of friendship anymore, you wonder. You've known Matt since childhood. Even if you agreed to the sex date, it was with the understanding of equal terms. You may have sought to make it more difficult for Matt by lying to your wife about the nature of the date, but you weren't texting Kali behind Matt's back, or sending her dick pics after seeing her in lingerie. Was this all just build up to the sex date? It feels deeper than that, but history blinds you to thinking that anything actually malicious is occurring. If you can't trust your wife, or best friend, then who could you trust?

You glance at the door. This had taken too long. You can't be certain that your wife won't wake, and the longer you are in the bathroom, the greater the chance of her waking up. She might notice you missing, or worse, notice her phone missing. You have to get back already.

Since this will all be over soon, you decide not to download the software, choosing to trust in your friend and wife, for now. With your wife's phone still in hand, you return to the bedroom, setting the phone back on her bedside table. As you slide under the covers into bed beside her, your body stiff, and your heart still pounding, you stare into the darkness. Tomorrow is finally Friday, the day of the long awaited sex date, and the day everything will fall into place, for better or for worse.
