Doctor Young heads to the Canteen

Doctor Young stepped out as the lift doors opened and he soon found himself in the canteen.

Even though he had missed half his shift he was ravenously hungry. He NEEDED food, energy, sustenance.

Kabir was working the kitchen, "Doctor Young, you missed breakfast. Are you ok?"

"I.... food... I need..." Doctor Young struggled to find the words.

Kabir approached him with concern and placed a reassuring hand on the doctors arm. "Are you sick? Hungover? You need medbay?"

Doctor Young shook his head as if to shake the cloud away, "I'm fine... food... please..."

Kabir glanced towards the kitchen. "Ok, no food then. I only have protein bars at this time."

Doctor Young shook his head "meat..."

Kabir laughed, "you know you used up this years allotment already. You're not due anymore meat until the next supply shipment."

Doctor Young gave a low growl causing Kabir to stumble back "look man, I get it but regs are regs. If I make an exception for you... you know how it is. Look, come back in an for lunch hour and I'll make sure you get an extra portion, ok?

Doctor Young stared at Kabir's neck and suppressed whatever need was growing inside him. He regained his composure and nodded. "Thanks...."

Kabir handed him two protein bars "best I can do for now man, come back in an hour, ok."

Doctor Young nodded and headed back to the lift.
