Doctor Plague [Supervillain]

Dr. Samuel Kane was once a brilliant & renowned British epidemiologist/mad scientist who dedicated his life to curing the world's deadliest diseases. However, after a disastrous experiment to create a virus capable of curing all illnesses went awry, Kane became infected with his own creation!

The virus didn't kill him, but instead mutated his body and flipped his madness switch from benevolence to full on malevolence, giving him the ability to control and weaponize pathogens! With his newfound powers, he transformed into the villainous DOCTOR PLAGUE, a being who can summon and manipulate infectious diseases, spreading them at will. He can control airborne viruses, bacteria, and even manipulate the size of microbial lifeforms, causing them to grow from microscopic to human size to full on kaiju size!

Doctor Plague believes that humanity is inherently flawed and needs to be "purified" through disease. His allegiances and threat levels vary depending on the story and writer. Sometimes a solo cunning villainous mastermind/Avengers-level threat who seeks to establish a new world order that's basically 'Planet of the Apes' but with germs. Other times he's - while still solo - an over the top villain of the week who jobs to a solo hero. And other times he's part of an ensemble or a minion/second in command to an even worse supervillain or even big bad like R.O.G.U.E., ACME or Warlord.

No matter his threat level, the one thing about him that is consistent is that his former altruistic ideals have been twisted into a ruthless and totally insane quest for domination, and he sees himself as the world's inevitable reckoning!
