Doctor Akira

I opened the shuttle door and was face to face with Doctor Akira.

"Oh!" she responded, taking a step back.

"Hello doctor!" I greeted, surmising she was here to make sure I was alright. "No need to trouble yourself, I'm fine."

"Well, I was woken out of bed for the red alert, I may as well be of some use. Just hold still and let me scan you," Dr. Akira replied.

I obliged the good doctor and stood still while she gave me a medical scan. "How is Angkar?" I asked, wondering if the scientist had made it out unscathed as well.

"He had some minor abrasions and bruising but I fixed him up in no time. He's meeting with the captain right now," Akira told me. She closed up her tricorder and looked at me with a curt nod, "You're personal assessment was accurate, although I did scan some residue on you..."

I blushed. If the doctor was worth her salt, she already knew what the residue was, but was being to polite not to point it out directly. I smiled nervously. "I guess that means I should hit the sonic shower..."

Akira nodded with a smirk, "See that you do. I have a feeling the captain will want to speak with you directly for a debriefing later." She then gave me a sidelong glance as she picked her words carefully. "So... ensign." I waited for her to continue. "It's been a while since you've come in for a checkup on your viral infection. I hope your... issues... are under control."

I shifted my hips and looked to the ground. "Well, yeah... I've been keeping it... under control..." I brushed my hair nervously. I didn't know why I was so self conscious around Dr. Akira, she already knew much about my medical issues, so there really was no reason to hide it.

"I see. And have you been keeping logs?"

Again I could feel my cheeks burning. "Yes, doctor."

"With your permission, I'd like to peruse them sometime," Dr. Akira stated plainly.

I felt my entire body burn red at the notion. The thought of the doctor knowing what I was up to in the last few weeks was deeply embarrassing. I've done things. I've done things in her medical bay... My first thought was to run to my quarters and delete my logs. Of course, that was a silly thought. I sometimes like to review my stories to keep the memories fresh in my mind when I'm... well, self medicating... My second thought was why the doctor would need to look over my sexual history. I looked at her, but she gave no hints to her true intentions.

"What for?" I tried to ask as plainly as she did.

"I'm compiling research for the virus and am documenting treatment methods and their results. Your past few weeks have been notably eventful and I wanted to look at how high stress situations affect the libido in conjunction with the remnants of the sex virus. I'm hypothesizing that the increase in adrenaline stimulates the viral properties causing the patient to become hyper libidinous in a brief window after the strenuous event."

I thought for a moment about my past exploits and how many times they ended up sexual. It was a disturbing amount.

"So, you're saying I get extra horny after being in danger?"

"In a way, yes," Dr. Akira replied. "But I'm sure you've noticed that yourself as well." She gave my body a once over that made me feel like she was picturing what I was just up to before she came in. "My scans indicate that the infection currently has increased activity. I'm assuming you remedied the peak of it, but your levels are still above average." She tilted her head as a thought occurred to her. "Would you be willing to come to the medbay for some tests?"
