Chapter 50 by Chip_Arranger Chip_Arranger

Well, that is your job, Kendra.

Do Not Pass Go

"Good morning," Sara simply said as Turner woke up beside her.

"Hm..." he grunted before gaining consciousness and refining his statement. "Good morning to you too, Sara. Did you sleep well?"

"Like a dream," she responded, gazing into his eyes. "I never got a chance to say thank you."

"For what?" he asked.

"For this," she gestured to the room, but then realized that wasn't exactly specific. "I mean, you gave me essentially what is the perfect night out. You were willing to learn dancing with me just for a stupid whim of mine, and you were willing to cater to all my other needs last night."

"No, I should be the one thanking you," he shook his head. "Last night was amazing, and you said that you were the one who was going to deal with all of the repercussions. I don't deserve that."

"You do deserve it and you're going to take it without a fight," she bopped him on the nose. "It was my idea to do...that...with you, so I'm going to suffer the consequences. Both the good and the bad."

"But you don't know what Becca's like..." Turner protested.

"I know her well enough to know basically how it's gonna go," Sara dismissed. "What, do you think the ten of us have just been staying alone while we're down there, only coming out of our houses when it's challenge day, transformation day, or time to go out on a date with you? Well, maybe Lauren's been doing that, but the rest of us are living it up together down there."

"I know, but it's only been thirteen days since you really got to know her," he continued.

"That's thirteen more days than I knew her for before coming here," she shrugged. "And I had a pretty good grasp on what she was like beforehand."

"Just how much did you gossip with my sister about me?" he jokingly asked.

"Woah, I can understand you wanting me to be talking about you, given this," Sara teased, gesturing to her and Turner's current state of dress, or, undress. "But you wanted your sister to be talking about you as well? Do you have an **** kink or something?"

"What? No!" Turner responded honestly, although his red face and hasty response led Sara to believe otherwise, or at the very least, gave her ample material to continue poking fun at him.

"Aw, look at you, you're as red as a tomato!" she laughed, before composing herself again. "Anyways, to answer your question, we were taking bets on how long you and Becca would last."

"..." Turner fell a bit silent, before quietly asking "How long did you bet?"

"Well, you know me, the classic romantic, so I said that you'd go for life," Sara responded. "As much as it pained me to say it. However, I don't think either of us banked on you being selected as the harem master for a smutty TV show called Harem Hotel...Damn it! I could've won the bet if I'd thought of that!"

Turner heartily chuckled to that, alleviating the remaining embarrassment that he felt from earlier.

"Anyways, I should probably head down soon, so that the girls don't get suspicious of me," Sara said after a few seconds. "More suspicious than they already will be."

"Well, I had fun tonight," Turner replied, as if it was a normal date between two people. "I'm excited for our next date."

The words "next date" had Sara excited all over again. Not just because of the idea of what would happen on the next date, but also because the thought of it was just so romantic. It was like he was dropping her off at her doorstep, right out of a Hallmark movie set in the 90's. She decided to lean more into that idea, standing up on her tiptoes to give him a quick peck on the lips before she opened the door to leave.

"Wait, Sara-" Turner said, which got her to turn around. "You might want to put your clothes on."

"Alright, so first, you gotta learn how to do a serve," Charlotte said.

She was currently out on the beach with Becca, Abby, Kathryn, and Lauren, trying earnestly to get the four of them to learn how to play volleyball. It was something fun that they could just do in their down time, and who knows? Maybe Kendra would have one of the challenge be something loosely related to volleyball and she'd be giving these folks the upper hand in it.

As for why she specifically picked beach volleyball over just normal volleyball, even though there was a normal volleyball court on the island, was for the eye candy. Charlotte really hadn't gotten to...admire...the physiques of the other girls in their swimsuits during the challenge because she was too focused on completing it herself. Unfortunately, when she'd said to dress for the beach, the other girls didn't exactly take that to mean "wear a swimsuit", because they were all wearing shorts and a comfortable shirt.

"How do you do that?" Abby asked. While she had played volleyball before in gym class throughout public school, it had been quite a few years since she'd actually played it, mostly just trying to fake injuries and illnesses to get out of having to exert energy. Why she wanted to exercise now was a mystery to her.

"So there are two serves that I was taught, there's the overhand and the top-spin serve," Charlotte explained. "I guess the overhand one is easier so I'll just keep it simple with that one for now."

"Hey everyone," Sara greeted as she came back from the hotel, thankfully wearing some clothes. "Ooh, volleyball, mind if I tag in?"

"You look chipper," Becca mentioned.

"I'm just a happy person, what can I say?" Sara half-lied.

"You look more upbeat than normal though," Kathryn added. "Did you get up to some funny business with Turner?"

She hadn't meant to contribute to outing her roommate, but because her head was already filled with ideas of what Sara and Turner had done over the course of last night, it wasn't like she could just keep silent. After she finished her outburst, she clasped her hands over her mouth, nonverbally telling Sara that what she had said was an accident.

"Funny business?" Sara echoed. She was debating on whether or not to answer honestly, but then saw Kathryn miming the word "Don't" and shaking her head, so she decided to try and make up some sort of lie. "Nah, we just had dinner and a movie, your standard date fare."

Abby raised an eyebrow to that. She had witnessed firsthand that she and Turner in fact did not have dinner and watched a movie, or at the very least, that wasn't all they had done. Unless that restaurant or movie theater happened to be called "HH Dance Academy" for some reason.

"Anyways," Kathryn said, her newfound compulsion causing her to be the first to break the awkward silence that followed Sara's statement that nobody seemed to buy. "Charlotte here is teaching us how to play, since we've all barely ever played it before."

"Most of us have barely played it before," Lauren corrected.

"Wait, you've played a lot of volleyball?" Charlotte inferred, running over to the older woman. "Were you on a team in high school or something?"

"I-never mind," Lauren responded.

"No, come on, you've got to tell us!" Charlotte insisted.

"It's not a big deal," Lauren shrugged. "Forget it."

"But maybe you can-" Charlotte continued.

"Charlotte," Kathryn simply stated, not wanting the blonde girl to put her foot in her mouth.

"Right, right, sorry," Charlotte apologized. "Anyways, yeah, you want in, Sara?"

"I'd like to take Becca aside for a minute actually, if that's okay with you all?" Sara replied.

"Sure, fine by me," Becca responded. "I'll be back in a minute, Charlotte!"

"Be back quick!" Charlotte said back. "You can come too, Sara, so we can have even teams with a 3 on 3!"

"Will do!" Sara called back as she walked off with Becca.

"What do you think that was about?" Abby turned to the rest of the group after the split-off pair was out of earshot.

"She probably went all the way with Turner," Kathryn bluntly said. "And if not, then she went pretty damn far."

"That's crazy," Abby responded.

"Is it though?" Kathryn narrowed her eyes. "You all felt the awkward silence after Sara just said that she and Turner went to 'dinner and a movie'. Nobody here bought that, right?"

"I don't," Lauren responded.

"Yeah, me neither," Charlotte agreed.

"I actually...have some information about that," Abby admitted, shuffling her feet a bit nervously. "But none of this gets to Becca or Sara, okay?"

"Why, is it something drastic?" Kathryn asked.

"No, nothing drastic," Abby answered. "But you know how Becca can get here, right, making a mountain out of a molehill. So just promise me that you'll keep this to yourselves."

"I...can't exactly promise that I will, given what's happened to me here, but I'll give it my best effort," Kathryn assented.

"Your secret is safe with me, trust me, I've kept massive secrets before," Charlotte agreed.

"Sure, why not," Lauren shrugged. "Not like I'm a gossip girl around here or anything."

"They went dancing," Abby simply said, which was followed by a silence about as long as the one after Sara's statement.

"Wait, that's it?" Lauren spoke. "That's not drastic at all."

"That's what I told you," Abby sighed. "Just don't tell Becca I said anything, or Sara that I saw her and Turner come out of that place."

"That's not nothing though," Kathryn mused, twirling a lock of hair around her finger. "Sara has that trait, remember? The hopeless romantic one? Well, what's more romantic than going out to dinner and a movie?"

"Dinner and dancing..." Charlotte trailed off as she realized what that implied.

"So, I know that doesn't really prove much, but it does prove that Sara wasn't being truthful earlier," Abby concluded. "Just...keep that in mind."

"So...whatcha got for me?" Becca asked.

She was in a good mood. So good, in fact, that Sara almost contemplated not even spilling the beans to her and risk ruining her day.

Almost. She had to tell Becca about what happened, otherwise the redhead would figure out that something had happened and would draw unreasonable conclusions that weren't really all that unreasonable.

"Look, Becca...I...did the deed with Turner," Sara said with little decorum or build-up.

The eight words hit Becca like a truck. She knew it would've had to happen at some point, but she thought it would've been after she'd gotten to him first, and then would still at least be his first, but no. Becca was gonna have to be content with being second. That is, unless Paige or Charlotte or Lauren or anybody else that went before her this week was to get through to him before, which would place her at third or fourth, or heck, even sixth.

While she knew it was bound to happen eventually, it didn't exactly help that it happened now. Expecting it to happen and knowing that it did were two entirely different ball games.

"He...he cheated on me?" were the first words out of Becca's mouth as she processed what happened.

"No, he had little to do with it," Sara half-lied. It had been her idea mostly, but Turner wasn't opposed to it. "This is on me."

"It's not on you," Becca responded through gritted teeth. "It's on Kendra."

"We're not doing this again," Sara said, leading Becca to one of the swinging chairs they had along the boardwalk and sitting her down before she fainted or ran off to punch the host again. "Look, while it may have been Kendra who set this whole thing up in the first place, none of this would've happened if there wasn't already some sort of...desire there in the first place."

"So what, Turner was just laying there **** and you **** him to do something?" Becca raised an eyebrow, further accentuating her scowl.

"That's not it either," Sara paused for a moment as she thought about how to phrase this. "Look, it's a bit complicated, but one event led to another, which led to about ninety others, and...I'm sorry."

"That's reassuring," Becca rolled her eyes, but her spike in arousal confirmed that it was reassuring, or at least was intended to come across that way. It didn't help that Becca's head was swirling with fantasies about Sara and Turner. She didn't know the girl all that well, but it wasn't hard to imagine what Turner saw in her. At the very least, she was drop-dead gorgeous, and probably-

"Stop that, stop that!" she screamed internally at herself.

"Are...are you okay?" Sara asked Becca, whose face was contorting faster than a politician clamming up about a scandal. It was a bit of a stupid question to ask, given that she had just been cheated on, but Sara still wanted to check in on her. It would probably just be a simple no, followed by a tirade that ended with-

"I'm fine, I'm fine," Becca responded with no hint of sarcasm or irritation in her voice, which took Sara by surprise. "I know, it must be a bit weird to hear that, but I'm just gonna tire myself out here if I get mad at every little thing that everyone does with Turner. Doesn't mean I'm happy about it, but I'm happy to share Turner with you..."

"Hold up, hold up, what the hell?" Sara blurted out. "The Becca from last week definitely wouldn't have said anything like that, what happened to you?"

"To be honest, I'm not sure," Becca admitted. "I'm not sure if this is Kendra's way of telling me to get the stick out my ass or if someone's used their BP to afflict me with a transformation, but I'm feeling oddly serene about this. I mean, you and Turner go together like peanut butter and jelly. It's a lot different than if you were my sister or his ex or someone that really didn't give two shits about him, but I know you're being real and genuine, courtesy of Phoebe."

"Turner's sister?" Sara asked, bewildered. "What does she have to do with this?"

"I don't remember how long back this was, but one time I was over at his house and I heard Phoebe talking on the phone with someone," Becca recounted. "She said something about how you have really got it bad for Turner and how it grossed her out because he was her younger brother, or something along those lines."

"Figures," Sara grumbled. "She's becoming a fucking lawyer, of course she'd've figured something out."

"Anyways, I bring that up to say," Becca continued. "That I know you're not gonna treat him horrible, and you don't have a storied past with him. The only thing I'm really upset about is that you had to be first."

"Yeah...sorry about that one," Sara grimaced. "But why the sudden about face on this? Last week you would've had me burned at the stake if I told you what I just told you now."

"Again, I really don't know," Becca winced. "Could be Kendra's craftiness, could be someone else's handiwork, could just be the transformation from earlier finally coming full-circle, I got no clue. But don't you go telling everybody else that I've gone docile, because if I have eight other people telling me what they did with my boyfriend, I will have a hit sent out on you as my final wish here. Got it? I'm only okay with you doing it because you don't have a super-negative history with him and I know you're a good person deep down."

"Aye aye, captain," Sara saluted.

"Especially Paige," Becca warned. "God, now I gotta worry what her fucking plans are gonna be like tonight."

"I'm sure it won't be something major," Sara reassured. "It sounds like she played all of her cards last week and still got shot down. Plus, this time, Turner knows what to look out for with her, so it's not like she's gonna be able to manipulate him into doing anything, right?"

"That's true-unngh..." Becca doubled over. Sara's rapid-fire statements which were just meant to make Becca feel better worked way more than anticipated.

"Ah shit, sorry about that," Sara meekly apologized as Becca started breathing deeply to try and alleviate the fire that Sara started. "You...you wanna go back to the volleyball game?"

"Give me a second," Becca held up her hand.

Does Paige manage to pull an ace out of her sleeve?
