Do Bullies Even Know How To Talk?
There was something else about Aaron that pissed off the football players and that was fear. Aaron had never been particularly scared of the football jocks that made his school life difficult everyday or anything else for that matter at least not since nearly dying during a break-in at his step-father's home when he was 7 years old and spending the next couple of weeks in the hospital near ****. That had been when his unusual pigmentation had developed... During his time in the hospital, it was apparently a condition inherited from his Biological Father and triggered by a specific combination of elements not the least of which was violent physical and emotional trauma.
But even though he was not afraid he still avoided the jocks whenever he could because they were a hassle he just didn't need on top of everything else going on in his life.
"Here we go again.," Aaron thought as the three men walked toward him.
"Where are YOU going you pasty little runt?"
"Didn't You hear the bell?..."
"Are you trying to say I have a hearing problem, You Goth FAGGOT?"
Aaron ignored their hostility and their insinuation of his sexuality and continued, "I'm heading to my next class alright."
"NO! It's Not Alright You LITTLE SHIT! A Freak Like You Shouldn't Even Be Allowed To Go To School With Decent Folks Like Us."
Aaron quickly suppressed the urge to laugh at the ridiculous assertion that they of all people were decent.
"Yeah Shit Stain. You Should Be In A Cage With The Other Animals!," The jock on the left chimed in.
"What Was The School Board Thinking When They Let You In?," The jock on the right said backing up his friend.
"We all know what's going to happen so can we just get it over with so I can patch myself up and get to my next class?," Aaron stated in a bored and uninterested tone, relaxing his body and giving way to the inevitable. It hurt less that way.
"Cocky RUNT! YOU Think YOU'RE Better than ME!," One of the bullies yelled and let loose a right cross that rattled Aaron's teeth then an uppercut in the stomach **** all of the air from his screaming lungs and made his brain temporarily short circuit switching off the pain centers of his brain for the moment so he felt nothing from that point.
Darrin only watched in amusement as his boys took turns turning Aaron's head from side to side with their fists until a smile appeared on Aaron's bleeding and busted lips galling Darrin to a surprising degree. Aaron wasn't even aware he was even smiling and in a sense he wasn't... It was an instinctive reaction from some deep seated part of his brain that was smiling.
"YOU Think This Is Funny Twerp?!," Darrin growled menacingly.
"HOLD HIM!"
The two hench-bullies each took an arm while Darrin grabbed a hand full of hair to lift Aaron's head up so he could look him in the eyes when he broke his nose for the seventh time in the last year alone. Aaron had come to expect it by now and it didn't seem to hurt as much as it used to not that he felt the bones crunch when the speeding bullet that was Darrin's fist hit him this time. The pain center of his brain was as cold as a glass of water in the arctic when it should have been as hot as napalm but not hurting and not doing damage are two very different things.
The merciless beating lasted until the first warning bell for the next class sounded and even then Darrin gave his punching bag a few more shots to the face, chest, and stomach.
"Alright Let The Wuss Go. I Think He's Had Enough For Today.," Darrin said slightly out of breath.
Once Darrin's two friends let go of Aaron's arms he dropped to the ground on his hands and knees, and coughed up a little blood... Aaron was surprised as he looked down at the floor at his own blood marveling at it's beautiful scarlet color and the way it glistened in the light. What surprised him about the blood was that there was alot less of it than usual after his run in with the football players of course, this was the only run in with them so far today. Usually by this time of day, This would have been his third or on a bad day his fourth ass kicking of the day. That's right everyone, Aaron's enrollment in Bayside has been a godsend to all of the other ostracized outcasts of this prominent Preparatory School who were the victims of cruel pranks, brutal beatings and constant humiliations every day. Now Aaron is the favorite punching bag, footstool, and doormat to the entire team most of whom take turns throughout the day trying hard to break their fists on his face.
The only reason someone as intelligent as Aaron even bothered to attend school is his mother's wish that he do so hoping that it would give him some much needed normalcy and provide him the opportunity to associate with people other than his family, step-father, and the house staff.
Noble intentions to be sure but an inconvenience for Aaron to say the least but a deal's a deal and Aaron promised his mother that he would return to school in return for discussing his Father which was a sore subject with Cyndi but Aaron deserved to know and she wanted her boy to get out in the world and be social. Again Noble Intention but an absolute failure in practice and Aaron tried he really did but his 'Peers' simply wouldn't have anything to do with him so he washed his hands of them and went his own way.
Disappointing I know but that is par for the course when it comes to the lives of the underclasses... To be ground to dust by those who think themselves better or superior but Karma is a tricky thing. It may take the wheel an agonizingly long time to turn round but it always does and we all have to reap what we have sown sooner or... Later. However, We're getting ahead of ourselves. That Part of Our Tale Comes Later On.
