Distracted efforts

You star giving order for the creation of the productive areas of your settlement. You plan on trying to grow wheat and maize, supplemented by raising pigs. As much as you try to organize your people, it's increasingly difficult to keep your attention away from the sight of the naked women walking about so casually. Diego shakes his head sadly at you. "I understand your distress Senor, but control yourself. You cannot go around cavorting with the natives, it is a bad image. They are your entrustees, not your fellow Spaniards to be dealt with socially." Diego may be right, but that does nothing about the fire in your chest.

You move away from Diego to the flatter part of the estate where land is being cleared for the crops. You take especial care with the preparation for the wheat, as it is foreign to them; the maize on the other hand, you entrust them with. It's a bit tough to get your message across at times, but it's a good way to get your mind off things. That is, until the elder taps your shoulder. "What?" you ask testily. The elderly man turns to point at a young woman standing a few yards away, looking at the two of you. You can't help but stare at her. The smoothly brown-skinned Taina is about average height for a European, a bit small for her people. Her face is young and sweet, painted with a thin red line under her eyes and nothing else. Like her companions she is nude, wearing only a thin string of beads about the waist and scattered pieces of small jewelry. You ogle her moderately-sized pert young breasts and wide hips, drinking in the full view of her fecund body. "She is my youngest" he says, though you barely hear him from your focus on her.

"You do not know our ways, yes?" he asks. Well, no, not much besides what you've gathered from Diego. "No, what of it?" you say again, frustration building. "She says she likes you. If you wish time with her, it is not against custom. Young women may take man they want." Your mouth waters at the sight of her lithe young body, while a swirling tempest of desire rages against your inhibitions internally. It would be so wrong to release your frustrations in the native girl, but it would feel so right. Still, what if this produced complications, just at the start of your career? And this could all just be some cheap ploy to win your favor, or secure an alliance with you, the de facto chief, through sexual trickery. But would living with the constant pang of longing be worth it until you find a wife, however long that would take?
