"So, Issei, if you really want to get to know me better before we get started with making babies, perhaps we should go out tomorrow?" Xenovia asked, and Issei paused at her words.

"...well, you joining the harem is something I don't mind happening soon, so long as we click, but I'm really not sure about rushing into fatherhood," Issei replied.

"Good call. You'd make a terrible role model for any poor little spawn you might produce," Koneko noted with some amusement. "...and the world definitely doesn't need a bunch of little perverts running around."

Issei flushed, though more in irritation than embarrassment this time. "Koneko... Do you actually think I would be irresponsible enough to expose any potential children I have to my perverted side?" he asked her flatly. "I have my flaws, but I am self aware of them, thank you very much..."

"Problem is, you're also proud of them," Koneko replied flatly.

"Damn right I am, but that's beside the point!" Issei grumbled. "If anything, I'll probably use Rias's abilities to ensure they never get exposed to anything like that until they're of age. Then those same abilities can help them navigate that stuff and forming their own relationships at that point, but putting that aside, I just don't think I'm quite ready to be a father."

"Why might that be?" Xenovia inquired.

"Well... there's a lot to life I admit I still don't know that I want to learn first. I'm still navigating Devil society. If I haven't fully figured out life yet, how can I teach any kids I have the important stuff? Also, I would want to be able to provide for any children I have. I'm still living with my own parents, I should at least be able to have my own place and house my harem before I even consider bringing kids into the equation of our lives. Finally, I also want to be strong enough to protect them from potential enemies," Issei concluded. "So, I'm definitely not against being a father, in fact, I honestly hope to be in the future. Key word being "future.""

"...I understand... though, on that last point, you're not giving yourself enough credit," Xenovia asserted. "You killed Kokabiel. A member of the Grigori. That tells me that you're pretty strong."

"Yes... with multiple others, everyone here included, helping, him underestimating us, us stun locking him as we hit him several times, chipping away at him, and even then, I had to pull a fast one on him," Issei pointed out. "One on one, with him not taking me lightly? He'd have wiped the floor with me, easily, even if I had unlimited time in my imperfect Balance Breaker. I'm not arrogant about my achievement. I'm fully aware that we were insanely lucky to win that fight."

Xenovia grimaced, unable to refute that. "...fair point. Alright... I can wait. Even so, I am interested in joining your harem. So, how about it, shall we go out together tomorrow?" she asked.
