Discovery

Peyton entered the coffee shop and waited in line. A few people were chating indistinctly around her, but she paid them no mind.

When it was her turn to order, she decided to get her usual, a medium mocha cappuccino.

"Midiamumokakapuchīno o onegaishimasu," she said, before covering her mouth.

"I understood about half of that, miss," the barista said.

Peyton clutched her throat. English seemed so hard to say now.

"Um, um, cof...fee.." she said.

"Okay, what kind?"

"Um, midiamumokakapuchīno," Peyton said, then blushed.

"I think you said medium mocha cappuccino," the barista said. "Just...go sit down."

As Peyton opened her wallet to pay, she noticed she only had a few dollars. It was enough for the coffee but she had sworn she had withdrawn more than that.

Then sbe saw her ID. Osaka Mitomo, it read.

What was going on?
