Dirk tells the truth

Marie wakes up in a comfortable bed, in a large, unfamiliar room. "Where am I?" she murmurs groggily. She glances at the mirror and sees her reflection. Guess the invisibility is gone. Considering I have no money, I must have snuck in here before it wore off. I must have been so tired I don't even remember doing it. The mage reasoned, completely overestimating herself.

"You're at the inn, in the best room money can buy."

"Eeep!" Marie pulls up the blankets to cover her naked body and turns to see Dirk standing a few feet away. He is in the process of donning his clothes, fastening his trousers with his tunic still slung over the back of a chair. She glares at him. "What happened?" she seethes.

"Shortly after our little... encounter last night, you passed out," Dirk smirks, pausing his dressing to answer her. "Guess I was too much for you to handle."

"Don't get too cocky," Marie retorted, unaware of the irony of her words. "I just had a really long day." She turns away, hoping he couldn't see her blush. "Wait... so after I blacked out, that's when my invisibility wore off? Everyone could see me naked laying in the street?" she exclaimed in horror.

"Oh, they saw you WAY before that," Dirk laughed. "You've been visible since you entered the village."

"WHAT!?!?" Marie shouted. "SO EVERYONE SAW WHEN YOU WERE FUCKING ME AGAINST THE WINDOW??" Her quick brain quickly put the pieces together. "AND YOU WERE ONLY PRETENDING NOT TO SEE ME WHEN YOU RAN INTO ME?"

"Deceiving is just part of the job," Dirk shrugs. "And what kind of thief would I be if I didn't seize such a golden opportunity?"

Was he trying to make her mad? "I'm going to kill you!" Marie screams. Dirk just smirks, infuriating her more. "Thunderbolt!" she shouts, pointing at Dirk. Nothing happens. Marie blinks in confusion, then notices that she isn't completely naked. On her finger is a silver ring with a small red ruby. Marie grunts as she tries to pull it off, but the ring won't budge. "What is this?" she shouts.
