Dinner

The tables were divided pretty much the same as they were the night before. Erik with his back to Bianca's table was eagerly discussing his workout plan for the evening with Dr. Pittman. Pittman mentioned he would join him, except he had other made plans already. As he was listening Pitt looked past Erik to Bianca, thinking about the night before. Unbeknownst to him Brian was, at the same time, also looking up from his food toward the blonde, and also thinking about the night before.

At Bianca's table she and Sayen were chatting away while Gina was looking around the room trying to figure out who sent the note. She decided not to rule anyone out. Among the guys Erik, Brian, and... Pitt were the most forward. Pitt had a wife, and was still practically a newlywed, so while that didn't rule him out, it certainly made him less likely to be the Romeo. But then, she thought, sending a note isn't exactly forward. It's more the actions of a hopeless romantic. She looked over at Axe, that would be his game. But the note wasn't exactly romantic. She looked to Alex, half confidence, half hopeless romantic. But she could see beneath the table that he and Makayla were flirtingly bumping their legs against each other, and occasionally a hand going beneath the table to tease the other. The cuteness reminded her of her early days dating her now fiance. Just then Alex looked up and they made eye contact, she quickly looked away.

Alex's eyes briefly met Gina's then flipped over to Sayen's and she smiled ever so briefly before re-engaging Bianca in conversation. He looked back to Axe who was just blurting out in a terrible french accent, "Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries!"

Alex laughed along with Gaby and Makyla as he squeezed the latter's knee and she turned and smiled at him.

"So what do you all have planned for tonight?" Gaby asked.

Axe shrugged his shoulders.

"I'm meeting with Dr, Pittman for a while to go over some research," Makayla replied.

"Oh!," Gaby exclaimed, "So you wouldn't mind if I steal Alex for a while? I'm just dying to hike the Lewis Trail."

Makayla looked to Alex.

"I mean, I guess not, you won't be late?" Makayla replied.

"No, we should be back about the same time you finish up your meeting," Gaby said with a smile.

"I guess that's okay, but please don't be late," Makayla responded, squeezing Alex's knee.

"I guess we're going hiking," Alex said, realizing the whole deal went down without his input.

"I'll ask Sayen too," Gaby added, " and you can come too Axe."

Makayla looked to Axe begging him in her mind to say yes as she really wasn't thrilled about the idea. Axe thought about it for a moment, of course he would go if Sayen was going, but he didn't want to say that.

"I... uh... I'm not sure, hiking is not really my thing but, maybe? Check back with me before you leave."

Makayla really hoped he would, she just didn't trust Gaby at all. She looked over to Dr. Pittman who seemed lost in thought. Maybe I should have left the school work at home, spending all night in Alex's arms would be so much better. Just then she felt his legs bump hers, she turned and smiled at him again.
