Dinner with Suyin's family

Zuko and Iroh were having dinner with Suyin and her family. What Suyin said was true, her mother did make too much roasted duck. Well, probably not since the two were here. Iroh looks much better also, his rash gone and swollen skin went down. The medicine really do wonders for him, even with so much fat on him.

Iroh makes conversation with the family as Zuko kept his eyes on the food, not wanting to be part of it. His thoughts were on the Avatar, his home, his father and sister. So many things were against him, but it was nothing new. He struggled so much and he is still alive.

Iroh was feasting of the food, Suyin's mother being happy that he was enjoying her food. Suyin says what happened to her family, their village being burnt down and about her father being in the war. Zuko kept his eyes down, not wanting to add more to add more to the conversation. Suyin looked at Zuko, asking if his father was in the war.

Iroh looked at Suyin, slurping up the food in his mouth. How little this poor girl knows. Zuko took a moment to think until only telling a simple truth. His father is fighting in the war. He couldn't say who his father is, he didn't want to make them fear him. They gone through so much, he didn't want to tell them who they really are.

After dinner, Zuko sad outside, looking at the night sky. His thoughts were on the Avatar. How was he going to find him again? How difficult is it going to be? How much longer must he wait?

Those thoughts were pushed away when Suyin came out and spoke to Zuko. She sat down next to him and looked at him. Suyin tells him that she can see how much the Fire Nation hurt him, slowimg moving her hand to his scar. Before she can touch him, Zuko grabs her wrist, stopping her. Suyin lowers her hand, grabbing her dress. She says she knows how he feels, raising her dress to show her leg. Suyin tells Zuko how much they hurt her too, showing a scar that goes up her leg. Zuko looked, seeing her scar, feeling sympathy for her.

He just realized how much she has suffered herself. Zuko was seeing the war in a citizens perspective, how much they suffer themselves.
