Dinner date on Themyscira

Ororo and Diana dined privately at the palace that evening, enjoying their meal on a balcony overlooking the island. As had been the case all day, the conversation between the two was natural, flowing easily between the two; now, not only was there a strong respect and admiration between the women, but a genuine sense of friendship, as well.

"The view from here is spectacular," Ororo remarked, gazing out at the setting sun reflecting on the island's beaches. "It makes for a truly romantic atmosphere."

"Romantic, you say? As if we were on a date?" Diana asked, an eyebrow raised with intrigue. Beyond the deep respect and genuine connection between the two, Diana had definitely noticed the mutual attraction between them. Surely, Ororo had picked up on it, too...

"Do you consider it such?" Ororo asked with a playful smile as she brought a glass of wine to her lips. "Because I certainly wouldn't object to that."

"Then I suppose this is a date," Diana smiled, feeling quite pleased... and more than a little eager to see where the night would lead.

"In that case, I'd like to know more about your love life. As an Amazon who champions love as you do, I have no doubt it's a full one..."

"Very full... and very fulfilling," Diana confirmed, smiling as she took a sip from her glass. "I've had many lovers over the years. I don't consider myself in any kind of exclusive relationship, although I'm certainly committed to the women I love."

"And are you committed to any women in particular at this time?"

Diana nodded. "Several, yes. I know a number of incredible, beautiful, vibrant young women, with whom I share a very deep, meaningful bond."

Ororo's curiosity was definitely piqued, her eyebrow raised slightly with interest. "That is a unique approach to romance, to say the least."

Diana nodded. "Perhaps. But it comes naturally to me, and the women I love have embraced the idea wholeheartedly," she said, smiling as she thought of her lovers. "Even before meeting me, some of them had already engaged in polyamorous relationships with other women. I try to encourage and nurture such love. It is truly beautiful."

"And do all Amazons share that approach?" Ororo inquired.

"Most of us, yes," Diana confirmed, finishing her glass of wine. "It's our nature, and we embrace it. Still, as much as I love the women I am currently committed to, I'm still looking for a deeper connection... one like the bonds I've seen between many of my lovers. A 'wife', if you will."

Ororo was absolutely fascinated. She'd known about the Sapphic nature of the Amazons, but hearing Diana describe her relationships was more than could have expected.

"What about your love life, Ororo? A beautiful, intelligent, successful woman like yourself must attract all manner of attention," Diana said, eager to learn more about her date.

Ororo chuckled, giving a modest shrug of her shoulders. "It's not quite as... active as yours seems to be, but I've had a few loves over the years. Much like you, I prefer women; I embraced my sexual identity long ago."

Diana was delighted to hear Ororo's words; though she would have been surprised if the X-Woman had said otherwise as she had sensed a mutual attraction between them in the past (and especially since both women had called this a date), it was still nice to have Ororo herself confirm her preference for women.

"Are you currently involved with anyone?" Diana asked curiously.

"Not at the moment, no. I've had a few casual encounters recently, but nothing serious," Ororo explained.

"And would you be interested in pursuing something with someone, if they expressed an interest to you?" Diana asked, casually toying with her empty wine glass.

"I suppose I would, particularly since you're the one expressing interest," Ororo responded with a grin. "I suppose there's no point in dancing around the obvious, is there, Diana? We both know where this is going..."

Diana grinned back, her blue eyes meeting Ororo's. "Indeed, we do... still, it's been quite an enjoyable build up to this point," she said, finishing the last of the wine in the bottle before rising from her seat. "Still, I'd prefer not to delay any longer... so shall we retire to my chambers?"

Ororo stood as well, the coy smirk on her lips impossible to resist. "Lead the way."
