Chapter 11 by Zingiber Zingiber

Ellen's answer.

Didn't know what else to do, Amy offered to investigate.

You catch back up to Ellen and slip your hand back over hers. "So why did you keep it, if you haven’t done anything about it? And what did Amy have to say about it?"

"I...I don't know," Ellen says. "I didn't want to throw it away in case someone else found it, and it didn't feel very nice to, you know, burn it or something. I don't know what you're supposed to do with things like that. I had thought maybe she would send another note."

You look thoughtfully at Ellen. "Yeah," you say, trying to sound understanding. "How about Amy?"

"Amy offered to find out who it was. I turned her down, but I think she tried anyway, that kind of thing gets her going."

"I'm glad that you and Amy worked it out, at least," you say. "Was that the only thing you heard from your secret admirer?"

"No, she sent me a card on Valentine's Day," Ellen says. She starts walking along the path toward the river again, and you walk along beside her, holding hands. "Just a 'thinking of you', kind of thing. Not as creepy as the first one. Oh. And I got another one yesterday."

You raise your eyebrows. "You worried?"

Ellen laughs. "Not really, it almost seems like a practical joke by now."

"What's the latest one say?" you ask.

Ellen pauses and looks at you.

"Have you opened it?" you ask.

Has Ellen opened the latest note? What does it say?
