"Thanks for helping me go over things, Kyoko."

"You have nothing to worry about, Makoto. We've been through college level material, I'm fairly certain we can handle Hope's Peak High."

"I know, just..."

"MakotoIneedyouurgentcomewithme!" Junko spoke in rapid fire before pulling the Makoto by the arm to the library.

"What was that, Junko?"

"That was my way of saying I need way too much help studying and I thought of you first. After my sister of course. Have you met Mukuro?"

"...Hi."

"Hey. Well, if you wanted a tutor, then you should've brought Kyoko too. She's the smartest girl I know."

"Well, you know the expression, four's a crowd."

"The expression is three's a crowd, Junko-chan."

"Silly me; look at my dumb ass! I guess that's just how the genes shook out. Muku-nee got the brains and I got the tatas." Makoto blushed at the mention of unmentionables.

"You could be smart if you wanted, Junko-chan."

"Not likely. I'll go study in another section so I don't drag you down."

"But..." She's already gone, her plan in motion. As the two get to studying, Makoto tries to start a conversation, having not spoken to Mukuro much in the old timeline. "So, Mukuro?"

"Yes?" The blush is evident to most people, but amid the books and quiet atmosphere, Makoto misses it.

"You're the Ultimate Soldier?"

"...Yes." Mukuro is very shy around her love interest, even with no other factors at play. Makoto simply believed she wanted to prioritize studying. He'd always held a bit of a flame for the mysterious girl in his old timeline, but when she hadn't talked to him, he'd believed she found him boring. His phone vibrated with a text from Kyoko.

'Meet me in the bathroom.' He got up to do just that, and Kyoko immediately spoke. "Makoto, do you remember what I said about you not being good at recognizing crushes?"

"Yeah."

"Mukuro has one on you."

"What, really?"

"Yeah, she did in the old timeline too, I'd even say it was bigger than mine sometimes."

"But she never talked to me?"

"Because old Junko didn't let her date."

"Okay, but she'll barely talk to me now too."

"Because she's so shy." Makoto panicked, realizing he was running out of excuses to stay loyal to his girlfriend.

"But I'm already dating you."

"And another woman, which I completely approve of. Makoto, let's make a rule for ourselves, okay? Not the book kind, the changing the way we approach life kind." After a nod, she continued. "Just assume every girl you've met before, whether they were a girl in the origin timeline or not, has a crush on you." Makoto could think of several exceptions in his mind, which he promptly thought to bring up.

"Even--"

"Yes."

"And--"

"Yep."

"What about the--"

"YES!" Clearly losing patience with Makoto's disturbingly high morals, she put the next part of the rule very bluntly. "And when you act on those crushes, which you're going to do, you can do whatever you want as long your pants stay on." She would've gone further, but she still wanted to be Makoto's first in this new timeline.

"But..."

"Makoto! Think of how much love you can spread through the world by loving these people. One of them will rule an entire country when she comes of age! Are you really willing to break that many hearts when I give you free reign to pursue all of them?" With that perspective in mind, Makoto sees what might happen, even if it is a worst case scenario.

"Okay, I'll do it." Kyoko smiles, her goal an inch closer.

"You made the right choice. Now, wait here for ten minutes while I explain our relationship to Mukuro."

"Mukuro."

"Yes?"

"You have a crush on my boyfriend." There's no question in Kyoko's statement. Why would there be? She already knows the truth.

"I do. I'm sorry."

"Don't apologize. I came here to tell you it's okay to pursue it."

"You broke up? Why would you--"

"We did nothing of the sort. We have an open relationship. He's already dating another of our classmates, Sayaka Maizono."

"I hadn't heard that..."

"Well, with her practice schedule, there hasn't been much time to do anything with her."

"So...?"

"Act on your crush. Act as if he isn't taken."
