I looked at the text briefly but had to turn my attention away as the police showed up and took statements and hauled the guy away.

I called Gertrude to let her know and she said not to worry. She was still clearly happy.

Overall it was a pretty quick and simple process but it still took some time out of my break.

Amara asked “Not how you expected your day to go?” I blinked at her, then she gestured at the box of condoms on the ground that had spilled out when the guy grabbed my drink.

“Ahh.. “ I said brilliantly. She laughed at me and it made her eyes bright.

“Just glad that someone’s getting some” she quipped. Then frowned and said “I can’t sell you that box now that it’s been opened, it’s yours if you want. Management won’t care - and they’ll be here soon enough.”

I stuffed a handful of the condoms into my jeans pocket and said thanks.

New soda in hand I was walking back to the shop and finally read what Liz had sent.

Liz: When I came back from the till to the coat I couldn’t find dickhead. I looked everywhere, ended up moving displays and I even asked Sam who was finishing up if she had seen anything. I looked at the footage of the cameras and someone had scooped him up. A couple in their mid-twenties - pretty sure I’ve seen them come in before..”
