Determined

Which brings Sarah back to the crash site. It brings her back to looking through the window of the weird shaped meteorite. The child looking back at her with his smiling eyes. A bond that felt only reserved for a mother and son seemed to open up in her heart.

“Yes”

Was the almost silent word that dropped from Sarah’s lips as she walked to the shuttle. It was the word that drove her to look for a way to open the window that kept her from the child. To then find a panel that opened up which held a red gleaming button. A simple press with her finger opened up the container.

She didn’t look at the displays all showing interesting logs and data sets. If she would have done so, she would be shocked to find out that the spacecraft seemed to know all about her desire for a child. Which again would send out a bunch of red flags to any normal person. But Sarah wasn’t looking. Her warm brown eyes focussed at the prize at hand. Her healthy looking son strapped up in a leather looking chair.

Truth be told, the data strings visible were all about planet earth. Which is far more concerning than a spacecraft knowing about the child wish from Sarah. There was a wide variety of mutations that seemed to be preserved by human kind that would add to the baby’s development. Which would have raised the question: why the baby would need to be on a planet with a high diversity of mutations. It wasn’t answered by the rest of the panels. And again, it wasn’t in the mind of Sarah as she just took ahold of the baby. Lifted it in her arms as a red light seemed to flash almost immediately in the vicinity. While all the panels went on black.
