You stare up from your screen to see what Mitch meant by different. The first thing that catches your eye is that the Detainee isn't wearing any clothes. He seemed normal enough all things considered. Black hair, a tanned body, and a ring with a blinking red dot locked securely on his genitals. Your eyes fixate on his flaccid penis that casually swings side to side until he takes a seat. You slide your hand over your weary face and bang your head against the table for good measure.

You bite your lips as you relay the question. You take note of the Detainee's enthusiasm as he answers.

"Great! I mean, really, you guys really turned my world upside down. In a good way though! Haha. I've never felt so happy and so free and just happy to be here, you know? I mean, life's been hard man, for all my life really. So damn, it's like I've struck gold meeting you guys and getting this opportunity. Really, I can't thank you guys enough."

A: Give positive affirmation.

You rub your eyes thinking of what to say.

"Good job 2392. You've... really progressed far beyond your peers during this... program."

The Detainee's eyes beam as he edges closer to the end of his seat.

"Thank you, sir! I'm ready to take on whatever task you assign me next!"

It's an eerie enthusiasm now that you step back and look at it. Almost unnatural and near uncanny. Then at that moment, your mind clicks and you're immediately reminded of your first encounter with Crowley. He was like a caricature of a genuinely excited person. Like a person pretending to be an actual person. You then notice the blinking red dot on the Detainee's ring flashes rapidly. The man was getting a full erection upon receiving your compliment. You instinctively look around and find yourself alone with no one to share this baffling spectacle. You are then pulled back into the interrogation as another green text lights up on the computer screen.

A: Ask 2392 if he has been taking his medication. There are anomalies in his test results.

"Hey, 2392. Have you been taking your medications?"

"Of course, of course. I swallow them every morning and night as I should. Why? Is there something wrong?

A: Inform 2392 that we will be altering his dosage starting today. He is to notify his caretakers if there are any unusual side effects.

You relay the message and for the first time, the Detainee showed emotion besides sheer excitement and enthusiasm. It was almost a relief to see him a bit panicked, as fucked up as it is. For the rest of the interrogation, you find out a bit more about him and his past. For instance, he became an orphan during the war but was able to serve the Federation as a polyglot. From Arabic to sign language he was fluent in several languages, though you weren't able to find out exactly how many. It was unfortunate seeing people like him whose skills became obsolete as times changed and nations closed themselves off. He seemed like a genuinely nice guy and it was hard seeing him **** up like that, whether it made him happy or not. This interrogation was much harder than the first one and by the time it ended you weren't sure if you could handle another day of it.
