Destination Hades

Diana and MJ wasted no time heading to the meeting place Zarda had mentioned. It was a place Diana knew well -- she had crossed the river Styx herself and faced the horrors of Hades and the underworld before. It was a place she had no desire to return to, let alone bring a woman she loved to -- but to save another woman she loved, Diana would have walked through Hades once again without flinching.

"So, Power Princess... is she an Amazon, too?" MJ asked.

"No, she is a Utopian. While Amazons were blessed by the Gods of Olympus, Utopians are the results of Kree experimentation," Diana explained.

"I'm guessing the differences don't stop there," MJ guessed, curious to know more.

"You'd be right. While Amazons are willing to guide and protect the world of man, Utopians have remained isolated from it."

"So why does Zarda want to fight you here? Greece seems more like your turf than hers."

"I wouldn't call Hades my 'turf' -- the god of the underworld isn't exactly a fan of mine," Diana explained. "It's likely Zarda wands to bind us to an oath for the duel. For what reasons, I have no idea..."

"And if you lose?" MJ pressed further.

"We'll just have to find out," Diana answered matter-of-factly.

MJ then asked, "So how'd you piss off Hades?"

"It's a long story. There are a number of reasons," Diana replied. "The biggest one is my affair with Persephone. She says I'm a far better lover than Hades ever was... he didn't take kindly to that."

MJ chuckled in amusement. "Niiiiiiiice."

The pair arrived at their destination, steeling themselves for whatever came next. MJ knew she'd do anything for Kori, including facing hell itself -- and that literally might be the case this time. But she was confident. As long as Diana was by her side, she knew both she and Kori would be all right.

"There's no turning back now, Mary Jane. Are you ready?"
