Chapter 5 by Shibbar Shibbar

Descending the chute is likely a one way trip. Descend?

Descend

{if Fax Panther = true}"That's what I like to hear! Better go out fighting than like a dog huh?"

{else}You begin your descent down the chute; carefully at first, but then at a certain point you lose your grip and you slide down, quicker and quicker as the vent gets steeper and steeper- before you're falling practically straight down, and then deposited onto a stack of crates and boxes. They break your fall but it still hurts, their contents spilling everywhere as you crash through them. When you finally come to a stop everything hurts and the room is spinning and your body is buried in debris and packing peanuts.

It takes you more than a few moments to get your head back on your shoulders. Your body aching and begging for a few more moments of rest, you convince yourself to get up. It's a storage room for maintenance supplies. Normally when a crate is sent down a chute there's a magnetic rail that controls their movement and takes them to where they need to be quickly and with minimal damage, but it seems they either weren't on, or don't work on fleshy, non-magnetic people. In a way, it's good that those crates broke your fall- the alternative, falling onto a flat hard surface at high speeds, does not fill you with joy.
