“I’ll take your word for it,” Tanya replied. “So...what’s next?”
Derp Chronicles Special! A Very Derpy Christmas!
Hi, everybody! It's your resident branch author Wesman here! Once again, it is Christmas time. This year I thought of a great present for you all, so here is a very special Christmas episode of The Derp Chronicles! I reached out to fellow derpy author, Izix, and together we crafted this masterpiece. I hope you all enjoy it and have a very derpy Christmas! Now enjoy!
Mimi, Yaya, and their derpsister, Gabby, were all taking a stroll through the Warden’s Fall Forest as a reward for their very studious activities for the day. The three made their way hand in hand along the forest path, the two derps skipping along as Gabby slithered her way through. The trio enjoyed their walk through the forest until Mimi broke the silence.
“I miss me...” she said in a deary tone.
“I miss me, too!” a similarly dreary Yatina agreed.
“Miss yourselves? You’re right here!” the naga said as she gave the two derps a few pats on their head and a warm smile.
“No. We mean us!” corrected Yatina.
“From the other place!” informed Mimi.
“The...other...place?” asked a very confused Gabby.
“Yep!” confirmed Mimi.
“Big Bro John and Big Sis Idena said it was a almond diameasure!” Yatina said proudly.
“No! It was a...a… almerite dissection!” Mimi said even more proudly than Yatina.
“Ooooh! That sounds closer!” admitted Yatina. “Was it...azerite dessert?”
“That sounds yummy!” Mimi said as some drool dribbled out of the corner of her mouth.
“Ooooh! I want some!” Yatina said as she grabbed Mimi’s hands and the two began to jump up and down in excitement.
“Can we have some azerite dessert?!” Mimi asked Gabby as the two continued to jump up and down. Their big eyes staring into Gabby’s very soul, waiting for her to answer them.
“Uh...well...if we can figure out what azerite dessert is, sure!” Gabby said as she let out nervous laugh and rubbed the back of her neck.
“But wait, are you two trying to say ‘Alternate Dimension?’” asked Gabby.
“YES!” the two derps said in unison.
“That’s the word they used!” Mimi confirmed.
“They said it was us but also not us...whatever that means...” Yatina said with some confusion in her voice.
“So that’s why we miss us,” Mimi informed Gabby.
“Ah I see. I guess if I met my alternate self, I would miss me too,” she said as she gave the derps another round of pats.
“So, can we?!” asked Mimi.
“Yeah! Can we?!” repeated Yatina, as both grabbed one of Gabby’s hands and began to jump up and down again, clearly wanting to visit their alternate selves.
“Well, I mean...I don’t quite know how we can go to an alternate dimension,” admitted Gabby. The derps stopped jumping as their faces quickly began to take a very sad look on them. “B-but that doesn’t mean we can’t try!” she quickly said to prevent any sort of derpy crying or tantrums. Out here in the forest was too far away for Idena, Brenda, or Gali to restore order to the derps if they got too out of hand.
“Yay!” the two said as their emotions swung back to their cheerful selves.
“Now, how did you get there the first time?” Gabby asked, with little hope that it would help her get out of this mess.
“Oh...uh...what were we doing?” asked Mimi as she quickly sat down and stared into the sky to think.
“Oh...uh..weren’t Big Bro John and Big Sis Idena in the teley room?” asked Yatina as she, too, sat and thought about it.
“Oooooo,” was Mimi’s response. Yaya gave Mimi a confused look until she noticed Mimi stared directly into the sky. Curious, Yaya looked up too. As the dragongirl stared into the sky, she too went silent. Both derps going quiet had caught Gabby’s attention, who stared at the derps as they peered into the sky.
“What are you two looking at?” asked Gabby as the two derps quickly pointed to the sky.
“It’s pretty!” Yatina said.
“It makes me feel...happy!” Mimi said. Gabby looked up and saw what appeared to be a shooting star* soaring through the skies of the kingdom.
“Wow, that’s amazing!” Gabby said until something dawned on her. “Wait a minute, how can there be a comet flying across the sky? This is a specialized kingdom barrier, and they tend to have self contained ecosystems. No way a shooting star should be here,” concluded Gabby. Her mind raced as to what could be the cause of this phenomenon. “Huh. Well, whatever the reason, did you two know that the humans have a custom of making a wish on a shooting star? They say if you make a wish upon a star, it’ll come true!” she said in a cheery voice. The derps’ eyes lit up at this knowledge.
“WE WISH WE COULD SEE OUR OTHER SELVES!” the two yelled in unison as they threw their hands up to the sky. All three watched as the shooting star began to glow very brightly. The same light then started to engulf the two derps. Gabby, as she watched all this, suddenly began to panic as her charges started to glow with a strange light.
“Girls! Watch out!” she yelled as she slithered to them and scooped one up in each arm. The light, not discriminating against her, made its way onto her as she squeezed the two derps tightly. “Hold on to me, girls, we must stick together!” she said as the light flashed and the three disappeared from the forest.
*Unbeknownst to everyone, the shooting star that they saw streak across the sky was actually Dargon, whose latest derpy experiment had backfired tremendously. It had backfired so bad, in fact, that it blasted the derpy dragon across the skies of the multiverse as derpy radiation fell to the ground. Any derp who made a wish under this derpy radiation would see their wish come true, like a derpy chest who wanted more noms to eat, or a slime who wanted to be extra slimy. Or, like in the case of a very derpy dragongirl and gorgon, go and visit themselves, with an unintended naga tagging along.
At that same time, in the camp of the Hunters of Artemis, the one where Mimi, first of her name ruled over all the pets with a derpy hand, Mimi and Yatina were playing hide and seek with the pets. They had made the rule that Nibbles was not allowed to be the seeker anymore though, every time the little hydra put his paws over his eyes, the other heads continued to look around making it very unfair for the rest of them! So it came to be that Mimi and Yatina were hiding inside of a rock as Marco was scouring the ground for them, looking for the little derps that gave him so much attention.
“It’s almost derpmass Yaya!” Mimi whispered gleefully, patting the dragonwhelp as they giggled. “The best time of year! Where mommy Miranda and daddy Arnold give us the best treats and the cutest plushies! Even cuter than those Cynthia collects!” The derpy whelp’s eyes went wide, this would be the first derpmass she would be spending with Mimi after all. Her snout rubbed Mimi’s side as she seemed to be looking forward to some treats.
It was then that one of Mimi’s snakes, Sssssssam, poked his host in the side, making her look up to see the derpy meteorite that was Dargon flying by. “It’s a derpmass Miracle!” Mimi cheered, not seeing how a flailing vinesloth was flown back to the starting point by Marco.
“You know what I would like most of all?” Mimi asked Yaya who’s head swivelled, showing she did not know. “To see ourselves! I miss us! It’s been too long!” with a happy bark, Yatina agreed, pawing at the stone around them as she kept nodding, she’d have to be careful not to lose her head like this! A few moments later, as both of them closed their eyes and wished upon a derp. They wished and they wished, wishing with all of their might, and then, the stone including the two little derps disappeared. Carried off to a winter wonderland.
This winter wonderland was in fact just a small meteorite passing around the earth every year. A strange race of abyssals had died here, the white snow being the blood spilled here eons ago and the festive christmas trees were actually the bones of slain creatures, but to the derps, this looked like the bestest place to meet themselves again!
Mimi and the whelp Yatina started frolicking about. “It’s preeeeetty!” Mimi cheered, using her snakes to roll balls of snow, the first one flying across the air, hitting Yatina’s back just a few seconds later. As the air shimmers around them, telling of the newest arrivals, they would walk into a true snowball war.
As the light around them began to dissipate, Gabby looked out to see a winter wonderland laid before them. The two derps that were firmly squeezed against her chest were able to wiggle their way far enough out of her grasp so that their heads poked out to lay their derpy eyes on the glorious view before them.
“WINTER WONDERLAND!” the two yelled in unison as they were able to break free from their derpsitter and jump into the snow. “It’s sooooooo preeeeeeeeeetty!” cheered Mimi as her snakes rolled balls of snow and threw one at Gabby and Yatina each.
“Oooff!” yelped Yatina as she took a snowball to the face.
“Ack!” was all Gabby could say at first as she got a mouth full of snowball. “Oh, so that's how you want to play, huh missy?!” asked Gabby as a devilish gleam appeared in her eyes. It was at this moment Mimi realized she may have made a mistake as she turned tail and began to run away.
“NooOooOooOOOOOooo!” yelled the little derp as the naga used her body to quickly form snowballs that were funneled to her hands.
“Let me show you how a real snakegirl handles snowballs!” cackled the empowered naga as she threw a few snowballs at Mimi. A snowball found its way onto each snek that Mimi had as the fourth one got her good right in the butt. The sudden impact **** Mimi to fall face first into a snowpile. The snow on each side of her flew a few feet into the air before it plopped down right on top of her.
“Hahahahahahahahaha!” laughed Yatina as she watched her bestest friend get pummeled with snowballs. “She gotted you good, fren!” mocked the young dragongirl, oblivious to the naga who had turned her sights on her newest prey.
“And who said you were safe?!” yelled the derpsitter as she unleashed a torrent of snowballs at Yatina. The dragongirl quickly moved out of the way, with a few snowballs just barely missing her swinging tail.
“Eeeeeeek!” she yelled as she shifted to her whelp form in hopes of being more aerodynamic. Unfortunately for the derpy dragon, Gabby’s snowball production made her more akin to an anti-aircraft gun than a slow firing cannon. The whelp did her best to dodge the snowballs but all it took was one snowball to the wing and the dragongirl crashed and figuratively burned.
“HAHAHAHAHAHA! ALL SHALL BOW TO THE MISTRESS OF SNOWBALL FIGHTS!” yelled out Gabby as a very competitive side had been awoken in her. Gabby’s celebrations did not last long as her crazy cackling was broken by a very similar voice that she swore was buried in snow right now.
“FIRE THE DERPAPULTS!” yelled Mimi as giant snowballs were launched from a very makeshift catapult that fell apart after a single use. That was fine, however, as its job was done and the snowball landed right on top of Gabby.
It was at that moment that Bob poked his head out after hearing the voice of the person he lived on. That was soon followed by Mimi popping her head out of the snow pile she was in when she heard her own voice but she didn’t say anything.
“ME?! IS THAT YOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUU?!” she asked as she looked at the hill where her other self looked at her and waved enthusiastically. Yatina also poked her head out of the snow to see if she saw herself nearby the other Mimi, to which she did.
“Is it!? I don’t knooooow” the other Mimi yelled back, running down the hill with her snakes flailing behind her. Followed by the ever derpy Yaya. Before they were good and well halfway down the hill though, the derps tripped and soon, a huge snowball containing two very derpy girls was rolling towards themselves. The ball crashed into the pile of snow Gabby had locked them inside of, creating a huge snow explosion that made it look like it was snowing.
Giggling could be heard soon enough as the derps started to frolic through the falling snow, Mimi holding Mimi’s hand, the two merily dashing through the fields of snow while the two whelp Yatinas tried to divebomb snowball the still stuck derpsitter into oblivion. The giggling dragon’s only mistake being that they were too busy looking at each other meaning that 99.9% of their shots completely veered off of target.
Gabby finally freed herself from the pile of snow that ended up atop of her. The derpsitter looked around to see the two Mimis and two Yatinas all running around playing with each other and having a very good time. She couldn’t help but smile at the sight.
“Well, looks like the girls got their Christmas miracle after all,” She said as she slithered her way to the top of the snowpile and made her way to her pack she had set down earlier. “Hmm. I think we should have enough,” decided Gabby as she went about getting her plan ready as she made sure to keep an eye on the derps as they played in the snow. After a full thirty minutes of set-up, it was finally ready. “GIRLS! TIME FOR CHRISTMAS DINNER!” yelled Gabby.
Four heads popped out of the snow at the mention of food. Gabby couldn’t help but laugh as she watched the four derps run through the snow to her location. She couldn’t help but compare the four heads as they moved through the derp sized amount of snow to that of shark fins as they swam through the water. As the four neared the location of food, they burst out of the snow and each one landed on a seat Gabby had made for them. The four girls quickly grabbed their silverware and waited for permission to eat.
“Well, looks like you two were right! You really did meet your other halves and have had a blast! I’m so happy I got to meet your other halves, and have had a blast today. Now, what do you say we eat and have some more fun before we all end up going back home?” Gabby asked the girls, who nodded enthusiastically before all five of them dug in.
For the next few hours, the girls ate, played, and told fun stories about their own adventures. The derps from the Camp of Artemis were quite jealous that the kingdom derps had found, played with, and tamed dinosaurs.
“We should ask Big Sis Cyn and Big Bro John if they can get us dinosaurs!” decided Mimi, with Yaya nodded emphatically.
“It’s sooooooo much fun!” said MImi. “Fred likes to play fetch a lot!”
“Ooooh! And Tonky likes to fling you off his tail when you slide down it!” added Yatina.
“Ooooooooo! That sooooooooooounds soooooooooooooooooooooo cooooooooooooooooooool!” decried Mimi. “We gotta get one!” said Mimi right before she noticed her friends starting to glow.
“Hey, you’re glowing!” pointed out Mimi.
“I was just about to say that!” replied Mimi.
“Does this mean it's time to go?” Yatina asked Gabby, who nodded.
“I’m afraid so, girls,” said the derpsitter as she scooped up her girls. “Don’t worry tho, we’ll visit the other yous now that we know it is possible. And you two stay close to each other until you’re back home, you understand?” asked Gabby. The two other derps nodded as they hugged each other.
“I’ll miss you, other us!” yelled Mimi as tears streamed down her face.
“We’ll miss both of you, too!” replied Mimi as her cheeks were stained with tears as well.
“I hope maybe someday your Yaya can transform like me!” said Yatina, who also let loose tears. Her counterpart let out a very sad bark as she, too, couldn’t help but have some tears roll down her cheeks. There was a bright flash as all five of the visitors to the comet disappeared and they each returned to their own dimension.
Now, back to the main story!
