Denied

Scott leans in, brash and bold, and when his hand skims her side, Sharon steps back.

“Don’t,” she says, gently but firmly, placing her hand on his chest. “Not here. Not ever.”

The air tightens. His smile falters, unsure if he’s misread the signs or just gone too far.

“I didn’t mean—”

“Yes, you did,” she cuts in, not unkindly. “And that’s okay. Just not with me.”

He nods, half-grin returning as he steps away. “Can’t blame a guy for trying.”

When he leaves the kitchen, Sharon exhales — a long, quiet breath. She leans against the sink, cheeks flushed, hand resting over her racing heart.

The moment passes. But it doesn’t leave her. The exhilaration doesnt leave her body adrenaline built up in her body, as her mind runs wild with what could have been, could have happened and if her stand against him would deter his advances further.
