Demand the messenger remove his hood

"Remove your hood." I said. "I demand to know who you really are."

The messenger removed his hood to reveal a demon.

"Murguth sends a demon." I said.

"Murguth demands that you surrender your kingdom to his new empire." said the demon.

"That will not happen."

"Then die!"

The demon charged at me with inhuman speed. Two guards tried to block him but he sent them flying.

A third guard charged forward with his great sword drawn. The demon conjured a shadowy dagger and fired it at him. The dagger pierced the armour as though it wasn't there, killing the man. The demon quickly move in front of my face.

"You're brave." he said. "but Murguth does not want a brave queen."

The demon conjured a fireball in his hand, preparing to kill me. However he noticed three more guards approaching him threw his fireball at them, engulfing them. He then conjured a shadow blade in his hand and charged at me again.

Just as the demon got close to me, I pulled out my own dagger and stabbed him in the heart.

"You thought I would not keep a weapon on me in case my guards failed?" I said.

The demon turned to ash.

"I shall have a meeting with my council." I said.

I had a meeting with her council.

"The messenger was a demon that nearly killed me." I said. "It is clear we must attack Burham."

"That does not seem wise." said Kevlan. "We do not know if that demon was indeed the messenger that Murguth sent and if Murguth indeed has demons serving him, it would be better to appease him. We will not win a war with the supernatural."
