Defending Him

Having Henry as a boyfriend is so much fun. He's so sweet, cute, nerdy, hot, sexy, smooth and just about everything I could ever want.

Ok, so I may have fallen head over heels for this guy.

We're currently up to five dates, and have our one month anniversary coming up pretty soon. No, I'm not going into details about every date.

Things couldn't get much better, and it felt like nothing could go wrong.

I don't think I have to tell you that something did go wrong.

His name is Brad. He's the school bully, the starting quarterback and the richest boy in school. Needless to say, he's an asshole.

He also feels like he's entitled to a relationship with me. I've been turning him down for years, but he doesn't give up.

Henry and I have been keeping our relationship on the down low. Not as a secret, but we're not shouting it to the world either. It's not because I'm ashamed of him, but because we know he'd get bullied if it came out.

Unfortunately, I made the mistake of telling Victoria, and she told Brad.

Victoria and I were talking while going through the halls one day when I saw Brad holding Henry by the neck. My boyfriend already had a bruise on his face.

"LET HIM GO!" I screamed at Brad.

"This little shit shouldn't be anywhere near you. He's bottom of the barrel," he snapped.

"HE'S MY BOYFRIEND! LET HIM GO!" I screamed. By this point, a crowd has formed.

"Rose, he's not worth it," Victoria said, but I didn't really hear her.

"Not anymore," said Brad before he punched him.

I blacked out.

The next thing I knew, I was standing over Brad while punching him in the face, both my fist and his face bloody.

"ROSE, GET OFF HIM!" yelled Victoria as she tried to pull me off of him.

"ROSE STOP!" I heard Henry yell. I snapped my head over to him and saw his face. He wasn't horrified or even a little scared, he was both disappointed and happy.

"WHAT IS IT GOING ON HERE?" yelled one of the teachers. Oh shit.

Suspended.

I got suspended for 10 days. Brad also got a suspension, but it was shorter.

Considering what I did, I don't blame them.

Henry insisted on walking me to my car.

"Why did you do it?" he asked me. At first, I didn't know. But now, the answer is clear.

"Because I love you," I said. His face turned into one of absolute shock.

"Wh-what? You love me," he stammered. Maybe I shouldn't have said that.

"Sorry, is it too soon?" I asked. I've never felt so venerable before.

"No, no not at all. In fact, I've been in love with you for a long time," he said. Oh my god, my heart just melted. He loves me, HE LOVES ME!

"I'm just really happy you feel the same," he said. I couldn't take it anymore, I kissed him.

I kissed the man I love.
