Dead but not done

When I came to, everything felt...lighter some how. I glanced around trying to figure out where I am, that's when I saw it, a dead body, no, several dead bodies. I looked around to my shock I realized I was in the organization's private morgue. Wait...why would they put me in here? Did really think I was dead?

I looked around for where I had woken up. I wish I hadn't. On the table where I had been resting...was none other than my own body, my own flesh and blood. I almost collapsed on the spot. I was...dead. No it couldn't be, I was still here right. I was still alive, right?

I lifted up my hand and looked at it closely. That's when I realized...I could see right through my palm.

"So that's it. I'm dead, a ghost." I laughed maniacally to myself. I always knew I would die due to this job, just never imagined it would be like this. Nor did I imagine I would actually see beyond it.

"Would you like ****?" A voice questioned. My head whipped around to the source. Before me floated woman of otherworldly beauty.

"Who...who are you?" I questioned as I looked at the strange woman. I had gotten into a defensive stance almost immediately but the woman seemed not the slightest bit concerned.

"You could say I'm like the grim reaper. I guide souls that have long since passed to the other side." She explained. "However...that's not my only job...I'm also responsible for making sure life and **** aren't tampered with." She explained.

"So what do you want with me?" I inquired. "Are you here to send me to the other side?"

"No." She answered swiftly. "Not yet. The scientist who killed you is one of many who seek to cheat me." She explained. "I don't like being cheated. So...I want you to help me."

"Help you?"

"Yes. I will allow you to continue as a ghost. Possessing whichever being you like. In return you will find and kill some of these cheating scientist for me." The woman said. "If you kill any, whether it be one or more, I will grant you a chance to live in any body of your choosing." She informed.

"Is that all?" I asked.

"Yes."

"Then I'll do it." I answered without hesitation.

She smiled at me. Somehow I felt like she had already known my answer. "Good...now then let's go and find you a new body." She smirked.
