Day Five.
Eve opened her eyes and looked around. She was in a bed with two women. She knew them. They were Jenny... Jenny?
She sat bolt upright, making her bare breasts jiggle. Jay! She was Jay! That was Jenny, her girlfriend, and Claire, her friend. The events of the past few days came flooding back to her and she lay back down.
She tried to take stock of herself. She was Eve. The more she thought about it, the more true it was. She used to be Jay, but now she was Eve. She wanted to stop being Eve and be Jay again. What did Jay do? It was something with computers. A programmer? Maybe an accountant?
A designer! He designed... something. Close enough. Jenny was his girlfriend. Was Jenny her girlfriend? She looked at the woman snoring lightly next to her. No, Jenny wasn't her girlfriend. Jenny was her.
The resemblance was striking. She and the slumbering woman could easily be mistaken for twins. She brushed some of Jenny's hair out of her face. Jenny wasn't her girlfriend but Eve still felt a deep affection for her.
Jenny began to stir. She opened her eyes and they swam into focus on Eve's face."Jay?" she asked timidly. Eve shook her head.
"Eve?" Eve nodded and tears began to stream down Jenny's face. "Is Jay gone?"
Eve shook her head again. "I don't think so. He- I'm still a little bit Jay. But I'm much more Eve." She bent down to kiss her doppelganger. "I still want to be Jay." she added.
"What are we gonna do?" Jenny asked, fear written across her face.
"We're gonna beat this thing, Jenny."
Jenny blinked in confusion. Only after a second did it register. "It's Eve."
From behind them came a muffled snort. Eve turned to see Claire rolling over. She opened her eyes, then they widened as they saw Eve. "Oh shit! Jay? Is that you?"
"It's Eve now, Claire. I think I'm running out of time."
Claire jumped out of bed in a panic. "Holy shit, look at the two of you! You look exactly the same!"
The woman who used to be Jenny smiled sympathetically. "You should see yourself."
Claire rushed into the bathroom and flicked on the light. What she saw in the mirror elicited a small cry. "Oh my God, look at me! What happened to me?" She rushed back into the bedroom. "I don't even look like myself anymore!" The two Eves shrugged. "You get used to it." one said.
Claire gaped at them. "Get used to it? What the fuck is wrong with you? I don't wanna get used to it! Why are you so calm about this?"
One of the Eves sighed. "I think as we get Eve-ier, we lose our drive to reverse the process. To be honest, I really don't care about Jay or his life anymore. I still want to get back to being him but the prospect of staying like this-" she gestured to her body, "-doesn't really bother me."
She turned to the other Eve. "And you? Jenny, we've got to get you back!"
The former Jenny nodded. "I'm not as far gone as she is. I feel like I'm Eve, but I still don't like it. I really want this to stop." She looked at the other two. "I think we're going to hear from Meredith this morning. She may have some ideas. We should also figure out if she's had sex and track down her partners."
The other Eve put her hand on her back. "That's a really good idea, Eve."
"This is going the get confusing." Claire said with a frown. "For now, can we go back to using your old names?"
One of the Eves nodded. "But how will you tell us apart physically? This hot piece of ass looks just like me." She giggled and playfully slapped the other one's ass.
"Ok, how about this?" Claire left the room and came back with two baseball caps.
"Seriously?" Eve asked as she looked over the cap Claire handed her. "Chase Manhattan? What, did you get this for opening a bank account?"
The other Eve rolled her eyes. "Better than mine." She held up a hat reading "Riot Grrl."
"I went through a phase, ok?" Claire said defensively. "Let's call you Eve C and Eve G for now, ok?" She turned to Eve G. "Which one are you?"
The woman giggled. "Why don't you guess?"
Claire sighed. "So we've learned that Eve is annoying. Jay?"
Eve G laughed. "Correct!" She grabbed her phone off of the nightstand. "Oh shit."
There were 17 unread texts from Meredith.
