Chapter 24 by krystalumpire

How do things go the next day?

Day 6 - Armies assemble before the Veto Meeting

It's Day 6 (Monday) in the Big Brother house. On the outside looking in, things might appear peaceful. However, as the houseguests begin to stir, plans are being put into action.

ISABEL (Diary Room) - "So, last night, I was having an amazing dream when suddenly I get woken up by Roxy of all people. She just shakes me awake, looks me dead in the eyes and says 'We need to talk' in the most intense way I've ever heard her speak. She tells Ellie and me that Julian was throwing my name out as a possible person to nominate and go home. I was flabbergasted! I never thought there was any chance that Julian would break our deal, but obviously I was wrong. Now, it's game on and Julian is in my crosshairs."

As the house begins to buzz with activity, Isabel finds moments to talk with Roxy and with Ellie individually to share the plan she cooked up after Roxy shared that information with them last night.

ISABEL - "It takes seven votes to evict someone this week. If we can get a group of eight together who will be loyal, then we decide who goes no matter what Julian does with his re-nom."

Spearheaded by Isabel, the three women agree to each try to pull in two people for the vote who they think will be trustworthy. Ellie comes to you and Daisy Mae, sharing that a group is forming and she wants you to be part of it. That time you took to form that bond with her is now paying off in a major way. Isabel goes to Chirag and Danielle, two sociable and level-headed houseguests who she trusts can keep a secret. Roxy tries to bring in Marcus and Liam, thinking they're both unattached and will fall in line thanks to their uniformed backgrounds. Unfortunately for her, she's only half right.

LIAM (Diary Room) - "Roxy came up to me this morning and basically told me that there's a big alliance forming in the house. She wants me to be a part of it, which is great, but it doesn't include Julian, who I just made a Final 2 deal with. She didn't say it explicitly, but I'm pretty sure they're going to try and take Julian out in the next few weeks. I'll keep this information to myself for now, but if I need to expose this alliance down the road to keep my closest ally safe, I will."

Later that afternoon, a couple of hours before the Veto Meeting, Liam reconnects with Julian to talk things through.

LIAM - "I know you want a big competitor to go home. Here's the problem. If you put up Isabel, who's going to vote to evict her? Me, Alina, maybe Ethan? That's it. There's no way she goes home and then you've got her coming after you next week."
JULIAN - "You sure we can't get more votes?"
LIAM - "Dude, I've been putting out feelers. I've been testing the waters. I'm telling you it's not gonna happen this week."

LIAM (Diary Room) - "I feel bad not telling Julian about this alliance that's forming against him, but I think I can play this to my advantage. If I can convince Julian to target someone outside of that alliance, then I can keep my cards close to my chest and potentially take some heat off Julian, too."

JULIAN - "So who does that leave? Derek or John."
LIAM - "Or Alina. A lot of people still want her gone."
JULIAN - "I'm not putting up Alina."
LIAM - "Alright, fair enough. So what do you want to do?"
JULIAN - "Who do you think the votes are there to evict?"
LIAM - "I think there's a chance with one of them."

Soon enough, all the houseguests aside from Victoria are moved into the backyard by the producers. Inside the house, they get the standard shots of Victoria looking at the Memory Wall while wearing the Veto necklace. Soon enough, Victoria is directed to bring everyone back inside.

VICTORIA - "Hey, everyone. It's time for the Veto Meeting."

The houseguests all return to the living room, sitting around the U-shaped arrangement of chairs and sofas. Eugene and Victoria, the two nominees, sit in the designated chairs at the head of the 'U'. Julian, the HOH, sits on the edge of one of the sofas. On the glass table in the center of the room is an open lockbox meant to hold the Veto medallion. Once everyone is sat down, Victoria stands and begins the meeting.

VICTORIA - "This is the Veto Meeting. Eugene and I have been nominated for eviction, but I have the power to veto one of the nominations. I have decided...to use the Power of Veto...on myself. Julian, since I have just vetoed one of your nominations for eviction, you will have to name a new houseguest as a replacement nominee."

Victoria takes a seat on the sofa as Julian stands up, goes to the front of the room and faces his fellow houseguests.

JULIAN - "This was a tough decision. I hope there's no hard feelings but...Derek, please take a seat."

Derek has a brief expression of surprise on his face before muttering 'Okay' and taking the empty chair next to Eugene.

VICTORIA - "This Veto Meeting is adjourned."

Victoria closes the lockbox on the table, still empty since the Power of Veto was used. Everyone gets up and comforts the two nominees. The episode editors cut in confessionals from key players to close out the Wednesday episode.

JULIAN (Diary Room) - "I nominated Derek because he's a big competition threat. He's big, he's strong, he's good at puzzles; he could run away with this game if we let him get too far. If Liam and I can gather the votes to send him packing, then I'm coming out of this week with clear skies ahead."

EUGENE (Diary Room) - "I'm still on the block, but I think I have a shot at staying now. I just need to convince the house that getting rid of a threat like Derek is the right move for them this week. I'm down, but I'm not out."

DEREK (Diary Room) - "I was surprised with Julian's choice to nominate me. We had a deal not to target each other if either of us won the first HOH, but clearly Julian is a coward. If he thinks he can get me out of the house, then he'd better be prepared for the storm coming his way."

ROXY (Diary Room) - "I'm glad that Julian didn't put up Isabel, but I'm still upset that he went against our deal. Thankfully, we have a group of people coming together who can control the vote this week and then, next week, we can target Julian."

BB ANNOUNCER - "WHO WILL BE THE FIRST HOUSEGUEST EVICTED FROM THE BIG BROTHER HOUSE: DEREK OR EUGENE? THEN, FIND OUT WHO WILL TAKE CONTROL OF THE HOUSE AS THE NEXT HEAD OF HOUSEHOLD! PLUS, HOW WILL THE HOUSEGUESTS REACT WHEN THEY LEARN ABOUT THE FIRST BIG TWIST OF THE SEASON? IT ALL HAPPENS THURSDAY NIGHT DURING THE FIRST LIVE EVICTION OF THE SUMMER ON BIIIIIIIIIIIIG BROTHERRRRRR!"

How does Derek's nomination change the house dynamic?
