Dash!

The heat from the flames is starting to seriously bother you, so you decide to try and find a way out as soon as possible. You take another look around, pick a door at random, wait until there are as few flames in the way as possible, take a deep breath, and dash towards your goal.

As soon as you take your first step all the nearby flames start floating towards you at double their previous speed. The largest ones are still too slow to be a problem; not so with the small ones. “Shit!” You curse as you barely dodge the first two. You are **** to slow down in order to avoid more small but fast flames – which gives the larger flames time to reach you, making things even more difficult. You dodge one, then another, then two more, then another one, and with each dodge you also manage to move closer to your goal.

But eventually there are too many flames and you fail to dodge one. You scream in pain as the red flame passes right through you, then you give up on trying to avoid the flames and just dash forward. Several more times you scream in agony as flames pass through you, before finally you reach the outer area of the room, where the doors are – and where there are no flames, for some reason. You fall down on your knees and take several deep breaths, trying to catch your breath and calm down.

After about a minute of rest you slowly get up and check yourself. The good news is that, much to your surprise, there are no burns anywhere on your skin – it is as if you were never burned by the flames. The bad news is that your armor, clothes and underwear are all gone, completely destroyed by the flames. Getting burned by the strange flames has left you feeling rather weak, but unfortunately the healing potion you had is also nowhere to be seen. At least your sword is still there, so you are not unarmed.

With a sigh you examine the door right in front of you. It appears to be made from some blue stone and there's a lightning bolt engraved on it. But as you watch the lightning bolt fades away and another symbol appears in its place – a single spear. You are not sure what to make of this...

Since the flames seem to be avoiding the outer area of the room it should be easy to check out the other doors – you are sure you saw several more. Or maybe you should try this one – you don't even know if it is locked. Please, let it be unlocked! The last thing I need right now is having to search for a key that is somewhere among the flames...
