Darkness, stones and more rats

The illegal mine is surprising large. Despite mole-furries being usually smaller than wolf-furries, you can walk upright in their tunnels without problems. Jackie casts a simple light spell, but you tell her to stay behind you to not tell the remaining rats your position. You have to rely on your advanced nose to get warned about enemies.

Jackie seems to be very interested in the structure of the tunnel. Or probably she tries to distract herself from the strange feeling your both get the deeper you go. The magic of the temple affects you and makes you feel like there is getting some pressure on you with every step. Jackie as a mage is even more affected. According to her, the dungeons feel the soul of whoever comes close to them and send out warnings to those who follow enemy gods. So, it seems this was one a temple of a dark god.

If you remember correctly, there were five goods of the light side, four of the dark side and one neutral one. Lunaregina, Fuegosanto, Airis, Xaia and Estellor are the good gods and protectors of order, mercy, freedom and harmony. Moespavit is the god of life and dead and is seen neutral. Lilienil, Malico, Ecliptica and Rabidus are the dark gods. The lords of the daemons, destroyers of the innocence and trust. Or at least that’s what the church says. Since you never met a god, you can’t say for sure what is true.

It doesn’t take long until you smell rats again. There are at least three of them, probably more. You whisper a warning to Jackie and she immediately puts the light off. Carefully you move closer and after about one hundred meters you see five Rats and a female mole in front of what seems to be a wall of stone tiles with a large crack in it. This must be the entrance to the dungeon.

The Rat Pack has not spotted you yet. They are too busy abusing the poor mole woman at their feet. Their boss, Borrus, must have given her to them as some kind of entertainment while guarding the entrance. She is naked, scared and her short fur is tousled, but she looks otherwise unharmed. You can feel Jackie standing close by your side and tensing her muscles. She wants to save this woman, even if the Rat Pack outnumber you.

Of course, you could just attack and try to take them out fast. Maybe even before they can call for the other henchmen inside the temple. But this is highly unlikely. You can also try to talk and distract them to get in a better position. Or Jackie could cast a spell to improve your chances.
