Sorghum Texas was a town with a problem... a criminal was scaring away the town's residents. Daphne Blake arrived in town, having been asked by her friend Shaggy to check on his cousin Tawny that owned a ranch not far from town.

Since most of Mystery Inc was away on business, Shaggy and Scooby were competing on Iron Chef. Velma had taken up an invitation to spend time with her family. And Fred was busy helping his dad get re-elected mayor of Crystal Cove, that left only Daphne with the time to visit Tawny and find out what was going on, the others agreed to come to Sorghum in a week's time if Daphne found anything unusual in the sleepy little Texas town. Little would they realize that a week would be too long to wait..
