Chapter 8 by cdbaby cdbaby

What happened next?

D-bags and teabags

The building looked none too dissimilar from any other as you entered but once inside the differences became apparent. Similar to Dr. Ryan's office, it had the same classical wood finishes everywhere and antique sets of furniture but you wouldn't describe what you and your compatriots walked through now as an office. It looked more like someone's house. One open door you passed you could see had two large antique chairs facing a fireplace flanked by bookshelves.

As you entered the room you immediately saw Chaz with the same shit eating grin on his face as before, now sitting on a loveseat with the beautiful Dr. Ryan. On the table were two small porcelain cups with golden designs along the edges sitting in similarly designed saucers. One large floor to ceiling window took up the majority of the wall to the left, catching the last rays of sunlight of the day. In front of that was a large oak desk. Atop that were a number of psychology books and a tablet, which appeared to be the most modern thing in the room if not the building.

"Ah good," Dr. Ryan smiled, "your friends have finally arrived...though not all of them it would seem." All of you, Clara included, turned and saw Frank had vanished.

"He was here when we came in." She laughed, "I'll go find him."

"Thank you, Clara." Her beautiful face suddenly became rigid and her voice stern as she eyed Clara, "We will discuss this further later on." Turning to address you five her warm smile returned as she continued, "While we are waiting for our lost little lamb would anyone care for a drink?"

"I'll have a beer." Mark laughed at his own joke.

Dr. Ryan shook her head, Mark not being the first class clown she had encountered, "I should have mentioned but I only have tea and coffee in my home. There are also no caffeinated beverages on school grounds. "

"You can't be serious!" Rick said.

"Of course I am." She stood and walked to a small nook in the wall and picked up an old rotary phone, "Last chance."

Mark and the others shook their heads or groaned their disagreements. Seeing Chaz wink at you as he sipped his cup of tea you turned to the beautiful doctor and said, "I'd love some tea."

"Wonderful." You never liked tea but seeing her bright smile as she turned to dial the phone and the angry glaring eyes of Chaz made the bittersweet victory all the sweeter.
