She finally found him nervously pacing in the stairwell near his room. Davis looked up at her with bloodshot eyes. His sweaty, pale face belied a small amount of panic.

"Christ, I could use a cigarette."

Rachel smiled and gently touched his forearm. "Are you nervous, dear? You look fantastic."

He pulled his arm back self-consciously. "Thank you, Rachel. I'm just- I guess I've got wedding-day jitters."

She nodded and took hand in hers. This time he didn't pull back. "I had a feeling you might. Here, you need to get away from the crowds. Follow me."

She led him confidently down the hall where she produced a keycard from her purse. Swiping it, she ushered him into her room and shut the door behind herself. He stood in the middle of the room awkwardly while she turned to the mini-bar.

"I'm not sure this is appropriate, Rachel." He looked around nervously. "What would people think if they knew I was in my bride's sister's hotel room with her?"

As a reply, she pushed a tall glass of whiskey into his hand. "Good think they don't," she said with a wink. "Now what's really got you so upset?"

Davis hesitated, staring into his glass. He took a large gulp and sighed. "I'm afraid I just can't say. I love your sister with all my heart, Rachel. I really do. I just- I guess I'm just scared of being married."

She dismissed his half-hearted evasion with a wave of her hand. "If you can't tell me what's wrong, I respect that. But as your future sister-in-law, I'd like to do anything I can to help you... relax." She spoke the last word in a questioning tone.

She approached him and put a hand on his chest. He started to back away but tripped and fell back into a plush chair, spilling some whiskey on himself in the process. "Rachel, I really don't-"

"Need to talk right now, darling," she interrupted. Her hands were already working his zipper and she hid her brief flash of revulsion. Ugh, she hated doing this. Except she didn't! She did it all the time, and she needed to focus on the task at hand.
