“Ahh,” I screamed as I fell out of my car. My right leg had not made it full outside as I had thought and it got caught on the edge and I fell over, nearly smashing my face into the ground.

“Are you okay?” I looked up to see a boy standing over me. He was somewhat tall and rather cute. I felt so embarrassed having this as my first impression toward him.

“I’m okay,” I finally said as I took his hand to help me to my feet. “Apparently I’m not as graceful at getting out of a car as I thought I was.” I nervously laughed while he looked upon me with compassion.

“I haven’t seen you around here before. Am I that oblivious, or are you actually new here?”

“My family just moved here,” I responded, trying to give a smile to cover up my embarrassment of everything that had happened. “So, I think that certainly qualifies me as being new here.”

“Well, let me walk you to the office. My twin sister Rose is the one who helps people out with getting settled in at the school. She said there was a new girl here today, so I’m assuming she was probably referring to you.”

We walked to the office and made a little small talk. Once we arrived, I noticed a girl standing behind the desk who had auburn hair with some pink highlights in it. I didn’t think that would ever be my style, but I appreciated the look and smiled at her as I made my way toward her.

“This is a new girl,” the guy, who’s name I did not yet have, said once we were in there.

“You must be Violet,” the girl said. “I’m Rose, and apparently you’ve already met my twin, Roman. I’ve got your schedule right here. And we should have plenty of time for me to show you around before you have to be in your first class. I’m glad you’re not one of those kids who is late on her first day.”

As we walked around the school and to my locker, Rose told me all of the important things that I needed to know. The entire time I was trying to figure out where I might fit in. I figured I’d give each of the groups a try before deciding where the best place for me would be.
