Crossing Over into the Afterlife

Similar to the lore of 'Being Human' (specifically the U.S. version) and 'Ghost Whisperer' a spirit who has died an unnatural **** can only move on once their business is finished or justice has been served.

Once that's settled, a portal to the afterlife appears in the form of a doorway, along with the Egyptian god Anubis who if they choose to move on, will be their escort to their religions afterlife. If they don't have a religion but were still a decent person in life, they get escorted at random to either Purgatory, Hades or some other underworld (either that of a religion that has long since died or one of your own making) where they will remain until Judgement Day.

Also, all soldiers - regardless of what religion they were or what side they were on - who died heroically in battle or did heroic deeds while serving get a one way trip to Valhalla!
