Crazy Thursday

You awoke to the sounds of Anthony crying sighing you quickly sat up before walking over to his small crib and checked to see his diaper needed a change and so you set about your task and began to change him when someone knocked at the door.

Thinking quickly you froze time before waking Harmony up. “What’s wrong Nathan its just a dirty diaper right?” She said drowsily. You only handed Harmony her invisibility cloak and Anthony before replying. “Someone’s at the door you know what to do.” Harmony’s eyes widened before she placed the cloak over her and Anthony while you quickly concealed the crib before returning time to normal.

You opened the door to find your RD Frank Neville standing outside your door. “Sorry to bother you today Nathan I know you probably weren’t expecting to be on call today but unfortunately the RA on call today is sick and I can’t cover him don’t worry I have already alerted your professors but unfortunately I am gonna need you to cover for him today.” You dumbly nodded before he replied. “Great I’ll see you around Nathan good luck.”

As he quickly turned and left you closed the door behind him. As Harmony uncovered herself and little Anthony who was now sound asleep in her arms once more. “Well what was that about Nathan?” She said as she rocked Anthony in her arms you only sighed. “The other RA is sick so I am gonna have to be on call today.”

Harmony frowned before she spoke. “But then who is gonna watch Anthony while I’m at my night classes?” She said as she looked down at her son worried. You frowned before smiling as you got an idea. “Why not leave him with Aunt Sadie She knows about him and besides aside from the class she had with me she should be free the whole day.” You said as you got dressed. Harmony nodded before replying.

“Right I guess I’ll pack a bag for Anthony since she’ll probably need supplies to take care of him.” You only nodded before tucking in your shirt and pinning your skill pin onto you sweater before kissing Harmony and little Anthony on their foreheads. “It'll work out trust me I love you both.” You said as you walked out the door crow on your shoulder to begin your RA shift.

An hour later...

As you let in another student who was locked out of his dorm room you soon headed back to the RA office and sat down in the office chair as you put your feet up and twirled your wand between your fingers as you waited for something to happen when a student wearing House Pegasus pin walked up to the desk.

“Are you Nathan BlackThorn?” The student asked. You quickly put down the book you were reading and looked at the student to see a black haired student with glasses staring back at you. “Yeah I am what do you need?” You said twirling your wand between your fingers.

“Umm well two of the other RAs from house Cerberus and Phoenix are fighting well and I can’t find my RA.” The student said fidgeting under your gaze. Sighing deeply you figured if this was gonna get ugly you may as well be prepared and quickly put on your magical bandolier filled with bullets you had enchanted for magic duels and your trusty lever action rifle.

“Well kid lead the way.” You said as your lever action racked a round. The kid nodded leading you down some hallways before you came to one of the grand study rooms where you saw overturned stone tables and students taking cover behind them as a flurry of fireballs and lighting bolts flew through the room back and fourth trapping students caught in the cross fire.

You sighed quickly taking cover behind a pillar near the entrance of the grand study room before using your wand to levitate a broken piece of a mirror used it to see two girls both beaten black and blue hurling spells at each other while angrily yelling at one another.

Taking your rifle you quietly crawled into the room taking up a position behind an overturned stone table before taking aim at the black haired girl who was shooting fireballs at the other one.

BANG!

You racked another round as you hit the black haired girl with a void laced round before following it up with two more before she was down. You then turned to the other girl before firing off two fireballs at her causing her to dodge before you closed the distance and slammed the stock of your rifle in her head knocking her out.

Sighing at the mess you looked around to see students begin to slowly emerge.. “It’s alright now you can all come out now its over.” You shouted as you dragged the one girl by her clothes to the other girl before taking some sealing tags and binding their hands and mana lest they decide to try and fight each other again.

You sat down against the wall as Dean Wilson came walking in followed by two of the campus security guards her eyes locking with yours. “Mr. BlackThorn can you explain what happened here?” You nodded before replying. “I was told by a student that two RAs were fighting and that he couldn’t find the House Pegasus RA and so he got me. When I got here they were hurling fireballs and lighting bolts at each other trapping other students caught in the crossfire so I took them down before sealing off their mana and their hands until you could get here.”

Dean Wilson only nodded as the two campus security guards walked over and carried the two unconscious RAs out of the study hall room. “Thank you for handling the situation I’ll be sure to let the headmaster know.” She said before walking off following the two campus security guards.
