Cosplay Gone Wrong

Evan hated anime. Well, hate is a strong word, he just had a strong disinterest in it. The only anime he would admit to enjoying was Pokemon, but he hadn't been super into that since he was a kid, which wouldn't be so bad, if it wasn't for one thing. Evan's sister, Melody, absolutely loved anime! And she always went to those "stupid" conventions and dressed up like a character, which embarrassed Evan to no end. And he loved to let Melody know that it embarrassed him, which only encouraged her to do it more and post more about it on social media where their school friends could see. But Melody is sick of it, which is why she had a little wager in mind...

"Mel, why do you insist on dressing up for that stupid convention?" Evan asked as he watched Melody assemble her costume parts for the following morning's convention.

"Because it's fun, you should try it" Melody replied.

"I think it's stupid and I would hate it" Evan said.

"You'll never know unless you try it! Let's see, you like Pokemon, right? Maybe if you cosplayed a character from that, you'd enjoy it! Tell you what, come to the con tomorrow, I've got an extra ticket, and I think I'll be able to convince you that it's worth your time!" Melody said.

"Yeah, I'll bet you can!" Evan said smugly.

"Okay then since you are so sure you won't be convinced..," Melody grinned.

"What?" Evan said.

"Lets make a wager. If I can convince you that the convention is fun, I get to choose your costume!"

"Fine! There's no way in hell you can convince me anyway!"

"We'll see about that..."

However, in the end, she did. Being an eighteen year old boy with raging hormones and the scantily clad cosplay girls (who weren't his sister) convinced him that maybe the conventions weren't as pointless as he believed. Not to mention all the video games and other exciting events. So in the end, Melody won. The following morning, Evan was sitting in Melody's room as he waited for her to produce the costume he was supposed to wear to fulfill the conditions of their wager.

"Hurry it up Mel! I want this over and done with now!" Evan said
