Dos Cory help Ed?
Cory doesn't agree to help Ed
"Ok... ok..." Cory repeated as she tried to process the magnitude of what Ed had done. Idris had been an asshole but no one deserved to be murdered.
She looked at Ed, if she didn't help would Ed hurt her she wondered. He'd always been a sweet kind boy but maybe something had happened to him on his trip or the trauma of losing his mother had perhaps driven him insane. She tried to rationalise his actions as Cory pondered where her loyalties lay.
"Cory..." Ed prompted as he reached out to touch her arm causing her to jump back from fright. She immediately saw the look of fear and misery on Ed's face at her reaction to his touch.
"I'm sorry..." Ed offered quietly as he pulled his hand from her looking confused and dejected. Cory's heart leapt as she saw the lost orphaned boy before her.
She pulled him close to her and hugged him tight. Holding his head tight against her breast.
"You need to turn yourself in, take responsibility for what you've done. The courts will be lenient. You might not even face jail. A jury with have sympathy for your situation. I'll provide a witness statement about Idris's behaviour." She felt Ed's body tense at her words "you can't hide from this, you have to confess" she told him.
Ed stepped back from her arms "you just promised you'd help me" he accused her.
Cory waved her hand towards the body "not this, don't you see, it's too much... I... just can't. It's too much. Let me help you get the help that you need..."
