What's next?

Coronation day Queen Amelia Arrives at the cathedral.

The golden state carriage was hitched to six white stallions three of which had riders. These riders controlled the unmounted stallions using them to help with slowing the carriage. As Queen Amelia walked out a footman opened the door and bowed as she elegantly board the carriage. She sat next to her the mother Helena. The carriage was escorted by the mounted guards and when the band started to play the procession moved off towards the cathedral. As per tradition the Queen would be the last to enter and the first to leave the cathedral. Helena asked her daughter if she was nervous. "A little," admitted Amelia. "But I am also filled with excitement." Queen Helena smiled at her child and said, "Remember, you were born for this role. Be proud and strong like your father was." As the crowd outside cheered, the sound of applause mixed with the jangle of harness bells, creating a melody of hope and triumph. Amelia could feel the weight of responsibility settling upon her shoulders, but her heart swelled with pride knowing that she was taking up the mantle left behind by her beloved father. Helena held her hand lovingly, offering comfort and reassurance to her only child. Amelia waved to the crowd as the carriage made its way through the streets the route lined by soldiers in gleaming armour. People chanted "Long live our Queen!" This continued for several blocks all the route to the cathedral. "Mother when the coronation is over and after I have fully settled in I want to make a royal visit to Julan. "Helena looked surprised then nodded approvingly.

Amelia's choice of place might not be unusual but what makes it special is the significance of this land where love can bloom even under dire circumstances. It is here where the great king fell in love with his queen mother, sparking one of the most enduring monarchies known to history. This love had helped shape the kingdom's values. " I believe that returning as the Queen of Sarella will help to cement diplomatic ties with our southern neighbour mother." Her mother gave her a look full of affectionate skepticism, a small smile playing around her lips. But Queen Amelia knew better than anyone else how significant such connections could prove crucial, especially considering some recent political developments. Helena smiled " And seeing Prince Omar again would not upset you Amelia" chided Helena. Amelia turned crimson slightly embarrassed "Why do you ask?" Helena took on a serious look "My daughter you first duty is to your kingdom and its people. Your second duty is to yourself which leads to your third duty which is to provide the kingdom with an heir." Amelia looked at her mother "Mother what if Omar does not seek marriage. How could I possibly ask him to give up his life in Julan to be with me in Sarella. Me giving up my life here is out the question so I fear any union is out of the question." As the resplendent golden carriage made its way through the bustling streets, the crowd gathered along the sides grew more excited with each passing moment.

Surrounded by lush tapestries that brought tales of old heroism to life, Amelia and Helena rode together towards the cathedral. As the splendidly appointed royal carriage approached the majestic stone facade of the ancient cathedral, Queen Amelia could feel the weight of her new responsibilities bearing down upon her shoulders. Glancing through the small window beside her, she saw people lined along the sidewalks, cheering and clapping in celebration. Their voices filled the air with jubilation, creating a surge of excitement within her heart. Yet amidst this festivity, there existed a lingering sense of trepidation — the daunting task of assuming leadership and carrying forth her beloved realm lay ahead. As if reading her innermost thoughts, Queen Helena reached out and clasped her hand reassuringly. The warmth radiating from her palm seeped into Amelia’s soul, instilling a renewed confidence within her frail yet determined spirit. She nodded gratefully at her mother, knowing full well that she would need all the strength her family had bestowed upon her today. The procession drew closer towards the imposing Gothic archways, the sun dipping low over the horizon casting long shadows across the paved pathway leading up to the grand entrance. The procession stopped outside the impressive cathedral and as Queen Helena got out the crowd clapped as she headed into the cathedral. Amelia waited a few minutes then with the help of a footman she alighted from the carriage. The crowd clapped and cheered as the pages lifted the cloak's train so it did not touch the floor. Then the band played the national anthem Queen Amelia walked up the stone steps to her destiny.
