Coronation Day.((A Queen returns.))

Karleen headed up the staircase and finally came to her chambers and watched as the door was opened by the palace guard who stood outside her door. Inside Bella and Selina waited smiling and in unison said "Welcome home your Majesty" Karleen thanked them then turned to the train bearers and thanked them and as per tradition gave each of them a gold coin which had been stamped with her likeness. Some of them also had the coin given by Arerto but for some, it was their first coin. Selina led them out of Karleen's chambers and Bella removed the state crown which would be taken back to the vaults along with the train. Karleen stripped out of the dress and shoes and replaced them with a lighter red and green dress and matching shoes. Then she finally sat down at her table and ate some of the cheese and meats. She turned to Bella "Bella now you are head of the servants do you think that Selina has enough experience to become my senior maid" Bella smiled "Oh yes your majesty she will make a great senior maid"

Karleen smiled just as Selina returned "Selina I do not know if Bella has told you but I will anyway. I have made Bella the head of all the servants in the palace. That means I now need a new senior maid and Bella has informed me that you would make a great senior maid. So I hereby promote you as my senior maid and your payment will be raised accordingly. Your first duty will be to find a replacement for you as a junior maid." Selina looked stunned for a few minutes then snapped back to reality "Thank you for this great honour your majesty and thank you Bella for your endorsement. I will do my best to serve you as you deserve your majesty. If I may take your leave your Majesty I shall go find a replacement as per your order." Karleen nodded her ascent and Selina left and they both heard a scream of delight when the door had shut. "Your Majesty you have made Selina very happy and she will serve you well as will your new junior maid."

Karleen allowed Bella to leave to go organise the staff to her liking and she sat down to reflect about the events of the day. However, one fact came to her mind she was the last in line to the throne. She would have to make it a priority to bear an heir to the throne and in light of the new proclamation her sister had made the hire could be a male. Before it had been simple the heir had always been a female and she supposed that she could keep it that way but she would need to speak with Lady Helen about this. She could put it in writing that the heir would remain female regardless of who was born first and in the event that no female heir was born then the council would rule. Or she could follow her sister's path and make Freeconia a truly inclusive realm but she would need to get the sentiments of her people. Her people, she smiled to herself they were not her people they were free and she served them as Queen just like her sister and mother had. She lay down on the bed and looked at the ceiling until her eyes closed.
