Chapter 9 by kaylor kaylor

What type of gift do you have in mind?

Copies of your tapes and music

You got to your laptop and began copying disks. “What are you doing?” Dak asks.

“You were supposed to learn about us, right?” You remark. “I don’t want to send you back to your people empty-handed.” You slide copies of the DVDs you had been transferring into the sleeves of a zippered binder. You add some CDs You had made of youe old audio tapes and a couple containing scans of pretty much every American comic ever made (part of a city-wide cooperation by the town’s comic nerds) and a great many Japanese manga. To this you add a copy of Encarta Encyclopedia which had come with your new computer, but you didn’t need because it was the same version you had on your laptop. Your eyes fall upon your personal music collection and you began copying it to the remaining blank CDs. Four albums of “Weird Al” Yankovic, two of jazz, three classical, two hip-hop and two rock. You slide youyr extra copy of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Premier Collection into the final empty space and zip up the binder. “This should serve as a primer.” you mutter. “We’d best pack up some things in case we have to leave on short notice.”

You look over and notice the TV on in the background.

Before you can say anything Dak looks over at you. "There is what you call a ‘cold front’ approaching from the northeast, according to your meteorologists."

You just stare at him, shaking your head in amusement.. "You have been busy haven't you?" you say.

"I am many things, human, but not a slacker.” Dak replies.

How do you respond?
