Conversations in your room
“Sooo…” Mariner sighed as she took a slurp of the smoothie you had gotten her, Aelita, Starfire and even one for T’Lyn. “Are you gonna explain what that ‘bootstrap’ message was about?”
You shrug a bit as you snuggle with Aelita as the two of you sit on Aelita’s bed in the quarters that you had been assigned. On your way back to the sick bay, you had realized that the others might want their own. You had made a couple that had some of Starfire’s and Mariner’s favorites, meanwhile you had also made a fairly simple one for T’Lyn. Once you had arrived at the sickbay with all the smoothies, it was only a few moments later that Tom Paris escorted the five of you to the guest quarters that had been set up for your group.
Currently, you, Aelita, and Starfire were sharing one room while T’Lyn and Mariner were in another. You had suggested sharing one room all together both due to the fact that nearly everyone had lived in co-ed bunks before (and showered in mixed bathrooms) and due to the fact that you had slept with everyone in the group at least once. However, it turns out they couldn’t move loose beds in for everyone (the rooms had a set amount of bolted down beds; Voyager really was low on resources you guess if they couldn’t replicate additional beds.
“Sure,” you said as you sat up. You pulled out your phone and put it on hologram mode to show everyone the message. From the phone, a four-sided banner popped up with the message ‘Bootstrap bitch’ on all four sides. In the corners of the sides, the from tab indicated it was from yourself.
“Looks like future me sent me a message saying that we are in a bootstrap paradox situation meaning we are in a closed time loop,” you explained as you pressed a button and a list of events popped up though only vague titles appeared. Events such as Vulcan ship, planet go bye, orgy 3, YuGiOh for Space Princess, and lessons on Rome. T’Lyn reached out and tapped on part of a list and slightly frowned when nothing changed.
“There are only titles for the events? It is unusual that someone would risk sending a message back in time and leave so little details,” T’Lyn stated as she went back to reading the event names. “What is YuGiOh?”
“YuGiOh is this kinda weird children’s card game this one formerly-lost human colony is obsessed with. They based their whole thing around it,” Mariner explained much to your surprise. “They did mention some guy named Big Tom introduced it to them centuries ago and then mysteriously disappeared.”
“Probably one of my people or an odd coincidence,” you shrugged while filing the name for later. “And future me probably gave limited information to keep things interesting for me and possibly because giving too much might make us do things differently.”
“For the ‘Vulcan Ship’ event, it could mean that we cause Voyager to encounter a Vulcan ship here in the Delta quadrant and we save them, or we are able to contact a Vulcan ship, or a relationship with a Vulcan,” Starfire mentioned while smiling flirtatiously at T’Lyn whose eyes widened slightly as she glanced between you and Starfire.
“The number of events implies either we’re gonna be busy or we’re going to be here awhile,” you suggested before looking at them with a serious look. “So we need to get prepared for whatever comes next, especially since we are on Voyager and more likely to get wrapped up in a bad timeline. I’m uploading the possible events to your PADDS and we can brainstorm things to prepare if that’s alright with y’all?” With the tentative nod from T’Lyn, the grinning nod from Mariner, and the encouraging smiles from your wives, you sent the data and everyone got to work.
A few moments later Mariner exclaimed, “They did what to Tuvix!”
“Okay, I think that’s enough for today, I’m getting tired,” Aelita said as she yawned and set her PADD off to the side. It’s been several hours since you and your group started working on scenarios and possible plans.
“I still think I could take the Hirogen, just need a bat’leth or my anbo staff,” Mariner declared, causing you to bow your head.
“We’ve been over this, it's better if we make sure that the Voyager meets the Hirogen when they’re supposed to though I doubt we’re going to still be around then,” you reminded her. She only huffed. “And I still think we should check to make sure Neelix isn’t producing hallucinogens just to be safe.”
“I keep telling you that conspiracy theory is insane,” Mariner shot back as she stretched while standing up. “There is no way the Voyager crew wouldn’t notice if they were high.” You held your hands up in surrender though you were still going to sneak back over to the kitchen to get a quick scan. It was a rare possible variant and you didn’t want to get caught unaware with your wives around.
“Before we ‘break’ for the day, may I speak with Mr. Gardner in private?” T’Lyn asked as she gathered up several PADDs.
“We can go to your room I guess but what do you want to talk about?” You asked as Starfire left your lap.
“Something private,” T’Lyn repeated. You looked at Aelita for permission but only received a ‘I don’t know’ look.
“Okay then…”
