Continue to Your Meal

You begin to navigate the twisting labyrinthine streets of the city. You've been here in this city for a while now, and you've built up a small coterie of mortal allies. Your first ally, a young college student by the name of Marissa, is your aim. You were first introduced to her when you saved her younger brother after he was stabbed by a mugger and passed out from the sight of his own blood. Using your knowledge of mortal medicine that you picked up through the centuries, you stopped the bleeding and convinced Marissa to take him to her parents' house, rather than the hospital. There, you secretly used your knowledge of Obeah to heal him, but kept the surface cut so that it would not alarm his sister or parents. You then came over for regular check-ups, and to get closer to Marissa. You learned that she was a sophomore who was majoring in biology, and she enjoyed jogging and writing. She was a pleasant companion in a lonely city, and you found yourself drawn to her more and more. Finally, after a week, your vitae was running low, and you decided to reveal your vampirism to her.

As expected, she was skeptical, and asked for proof. However, flexing your retractable fangs wasn't enough. That's when you slit your wrist. If you recall correctly, your thoughts at the time were "In for a penny, in for a pound." Rather than spurt out, the blood simply pooled around the cut and stayed there. Thankfully there was no one around to hear her scream. She was absolutely frantic until you used your vitae to close the wound, then, she was shocked. After about half an hour and one calmed down Marissa later, you began to explain your vamiprism to her. You told her of the nature of vampirism and the basics of your clan, leaving out the soul-sucking rumor, of course. Eventually, you told her how you healed her brother, and about your need. She was hesitant, until you sunk your fangs into her neck. The bliss the both of you felt was unlike any other. You remembered her hair smelled of strawberries, and her blood almost tasted like honey. Later, she told you that it was the most calm, serene, and oddly sensual feeling she had ever experienced, and made you promise that should you ever have the need to feed again, you call her first. You readily agreed.

Before you realized it, you were at the door to Marissa's studio apartment that she began to rent the summer after her freshman year. It was cheap and affordable, due to them being set up specifically for students who did not want to live with their parents or bunk with a roommate in one of the over-priced dorms.
