Continue into the temple ruins
Confused he moved deeper in the temple ruins.
As he looked around for movement he did not see the huge variety of carefully hidden traps and snares that lay hidden through the temple ruins.
Korak crept carefully through the ruined temple, suspicious of an ambush, and on his guard for whatever hidden dangers lay in store. His muscles rippled as he glided across the jungle floor, using shadows and vegetation to conceal his movements.
Korak kept his keen eyes peeled for any sign of danger. He took another step, and felt his ankle snap an almost invisible trip-wire strung near the ground... Korak jerked and leapt backward using his heightened jungle reflexes to just narrowly avoid a heavy cargo net trap that had sprung up from the ground! PFFFFFTTT!!!! The cargo net pulled taut on spring-powered pistons, hoisting the empty net several feet into the air. Simultaneous spring-loaded triggers shot several lengths of steel cable from hidden launchers... THHPP THHP THHPP... the spring-loaded cables whirled around the cargo net, winding around the trap... meant to secure whatever victim the net had snared.
Korak gazed up fiercely, eyeing the sprung trap that had so nearly ensared him. Whoever engineered this wasn't your average hunter or trapper, Korak mused. And this trap certainly wasn't the only one that had been laid here for him...
Korak tried to ignore the scents distracting him.
They must be fake or it must be people who are heavily concealed.
However the trap that nearly caught him had impressed him.
A expert hunter had set that trap and clearly that hunter had spend a lot of time thinking about how to capture him.
The hunter must be nearby, somewhere.
Korak looked around with his sharp eyes but could not detect the presence of anyone.
Whoever this hunter was he was highly skilled.
Korak realized he had to get out of this booby trapped temple areau.
As the wind turned he noticed the scents again.
It must be a distraction for me, he thought as he did his best to ignore it.
Moving cautiously away he was not aware of the motion detector that was concealed under the bushes.
A light sound made him aware he had activated something.
A crossbow hidden inside a tree got triggered.
His lightning fast reflexes allowed Korak to duck away.
The tranquilizer dart pierced the air where his shoulder been a fraction of a second ago.
Korak looked around cautiously.
The two traps he had activated where better then any trap he had ever encountered.
Who was this person trying to catch him?
As silent as possible Korak slowly moved forward.
He focussed on his senses as he was aware there must have been multiple other threats hidden around him.
He felt concerned as he was aware the person who had put this traps must have anticipated his moves and probably had other methods as well in case the traps would not work.
